Just as terrible as it's always been.
I got Control for free and uninstalled it as soon as I was done with it.

Yeah, same as Steam/Oculus Store etc. Less than 2 weeks/2 hours I think.
Hopefully, QoL improvements like shopping cart and more robust controller support comes quickly.
Same experience for me. I'm going to hold off buying certain games as the modding tools aren't in place. I'm sure Nexus Mods will figure something out for OuterWorlds (on GamePass) or <insert other game on EGS>, but I'd prefer to do modding through Steam Community. For example, I'm going to wait on RDR2 on Steam, because it needs significant patches/mod support, IMO, before I jump back in.it's light, functional and it gives me free games.
it's perfect.
There are multiple VR games on the Epic store and they work just fine.

You can't mod any games on Game Pass. There's nothing Nexus Mods or anyone else can do because Microsoft Store locks all the game files from modders. Epic Store version will be fine for mods though, if any come out.I'm sure Nexus Mods will figure something out for OuterWorlds (on GamePass)
I'm talking about steamVR features like being able to run non VR games in VR desktop mode, motion smoothing etc.
Can we still refund games but keep them installed and play them?
I thought it also happened with Borderlands 3?No, that was an unintended result of how you got both an EGS and Ubisoft Store version of Ubi games and they fixed it.
EGS uses SteamVR. So features like motion smoothing should just work via that right? I haven't tried a VR game there for a while (I tried Subnautica at launch).
Very utilitarian of you to be above fluffy meta garbage like an offline mode.works great for me but i don't care about all the fluffy shit like steam has as i just use them as game delivery services and don't partake in meta garbage
Epic does have one where you can just skip signing in and play the games that are installed on your PC, though iirc there have been issues with certain games just not being playable. I just checked and all of the games that I have installed were just playable so they may have changed/fixed that since.Very utilitarian of you to be above fluffy meta garbage like an offline mode.
I'm not a developer, coder or none of that....but I just don't get how apparently Epic has all this money to throw around at people to get timed exclusives, but stuff like for example, not having a forum still isn't implemented yet. It just doesn't sit well for people like me that look at that and get a little cautious when thinking about buying something from you.
You have money to spend obviously, but aren't using it to prop up the main avenue in which your customers will interact with you?
The 2 most popular storefronts that aren't primarily selling the games the owners publish (Steam and GOG) have forums. I'm pretty sure that sets the standard.Steam is the anomaly for having forums. It is not the norm for a digital storefront to have a forum.
