Roughly. Of course. Lets assume there is a decent amount of cars on the road but traffic isnt really a limiting factor.

I try to stay around 80 but I sometimes tick up to 90 or a 100 even.

60 mph which is the speed limit in my area that I travel and sometimes up to 65

The most I've ever sped up to was 75 and that was when I was traveling to another city upon a business trip and that the limit was 70 or 75.

I never drive anymore but a few weeks ago a friend of mine and I drove from DC to NC and when it was 55 limit I did 64, when 65 I did 79 and when 70 I did 84. Then when we hit the Straight ass back roads I'd take it up to like 105 for a hot second every so often. We were in a Mustang convertible. Shit was fun.

Depends how fast everyone else is driving. I just go as fast as the flow of traffic. In Houston that's usually 10-15 miles above the speed limit.

I'm honestly not comfortable driving faster than 75 if I'm not in a rush. I chill around 70 as much as possible.

Usually 75 (when speed limit is 65) or 80 if the limit is 70, though my fuel economy drops like a rock at 80.

I get not exceeding the limit, but people who drive under the limit should reassess their life choice. If you're being passed by semi trucks, you're doing it wrong.

Yay Area
Light traffic: 80mph
Medium traffic and heavy traffic: speed of traffic. During medium traffic I'll tend to go around 70 in the left lane as that's what almost everyone in that lane travels at.

I just got back from Disneyland, live in Bay Area, and it was mostly around 80-90. Took me exactly 5:30 hours to get from Disney to my house.

Also, people who slow down like crazy on the freeway when they see a cop piss me off. Shit is always a close call for people behind the first couple of cars that see the cop. Going from 70 to 45 on the freeway so fast is a hazard.

My soft cap is 80 unless there's a line of cars ahead of me going over that. However, I commute during rush hour in a congested area so I can only go as fast as traffic will permit.

I try not to go more than 15 over, as that's around when cops will start picking people off around here. So typically 70-80.

One day I was driving up to a friends wedding through the eastern shore, with all these straight roads and not a car in sight, and I found myself going around 110 at one point. I don't have cruise control and it's so easy to creep up in speed.

Largely with the flow of traffic, 10 over limit. 75-80 max depending on local limits.

There are a handful of real straight, flat stretches when I drive to visit my folks in NC where I can cruise around 90ish for a bit

I dont drive, but my parents and older brother drive the usual: about ~5-10 mph over the given speed limit, just going with the flow.

Usually 5 miles above the speed limit, which is considered way too slow in Los Angeles.

But let's be real, if I'm on the freeway in L.A. and there's traffic, we're all doing about 55 miles under the speed limit.

Around 68. Our highways are 65 so I stay in the right lane going a few over the limit. I only pass people if they're going under the speed limit.

Something I've consistently noticed across the US is city highway speed limits being absurdly low like 50-60mph and how everyone just completely disregards it and goes 80 anyway.

Who came up with that idea?

I definitely drive faster on rural backroads than on the freeway. Less people and less cops. I'll drive down backroads I'll see three other cars on in a whole week and be doing speeds approaching 100 in my little ol Mustang.

I'll never forget the time I was going down the freeway somewhere in Virginia Beach, where the speed limit is 55, at about 70 and a school bus full of kids passed me. Speed limits are so weird.

I go with the flow of traffic. Insisting on driving at some set, arbitrary speed is not only really weird, but also a great way to cause accidents if that speed happens to differ enough from the general flow.

Typically 5 above is there are other cars around. 80-85 if noone is around.
