I mean, Next Level Games is still one of Nintendo's biggest Western support studios. This tweet doesn't mean shit, but it's not the most impossible series to get dredged up for a "later in the console lifecycle" stopgap.

There is no way Next Level Games has had time to develop Mario Strikers alongside Luigi's Mansion 3. The only other option would be Nintendo having another studio developing it, of which Camelot would be the only possible alternative.

Cause she got stuff right last time, I guess. I think a lot of it was relatively easy to figure out at the time, but Eh.
Unless I'm mistaken she said there'd be a Direct upcoming in March but got the actual contents wrong.
I'm not saying I think she's credible. She got a couple things right like the timing, but yeah she was off about some of the contents citing that things were volatile, which is fair, but also a super easy out.

Don't even joke about Mario Strikers to me. Make all the yuks you want about Metroid, it'll happen eventually, but I'm one of the dozen or so people who still actually wishes Strikers would come back, chock full with the same energy it had back in the Wii.

Mario Strikers on GameCube was a tradition at my company for 3 years across various reps who worked for me (ages 23-30 avg). They were obsessed to the point that we needed to regulate when they could play.
They all deserved the breaks, hard workers. Just got a lot of guff from leadership.
I don't blame the reps either. The first Strikers game has a simple control scheme with incredible gameplay depth, not unlike Smash Bros. Would love to see a new game.
Oh well. I shouldn't have read her update regarding the next BotW2 trailer. Now I'm even more mad at that stupid pandemic and at the same time, I know I'll be bitterly disappointed come mid-june from the absence of said trailer.

Have a friend who used to unplug his Wii if he was losing on Mario Strikers Charged (Wii) - it didn't penalise for disconnects.
We used to love playing that together in groups though, would love to see a new game... although in a post-Rocket-League world (I know they're different), its got good competition for arcade competitive footy-like fun.

Edit: also, I would kill for a new strikers. That game had ridiculous depth. The chip button opened up an insane amount of trick shots that totally changed the competitive game. I'll be crushed if it turns out someone else is making a sequel though and it doesn't have the same controls/physics
