Yeah, Ace in the Hole is great too. I caught it on Criterion Channel and he's absolutely fantastic in it.
I didn't realize how old he was until saw a picture of him recently. Truly one of the greats, may he rest in peace.
Not quite, Olivia de Haviland is still alive and over 100 as well. Still, hell of a run for The Ragman's Son and a hell of a legacy. RIP.

I've never heard of any rape accusations, but there's the Jean Spangler case, and the Kirk there was implied to be Kirk Douglas.

The black list was a list of suspected communists or sympathizers in Hollywood/entertainers during the height of the red scare. Many people were ruined by McCarthy's fear mongering, which the screenwriter of Spartacus was a victim of.
Wasn't it disputed recently that Edward Lewis was the one who got Dalton out of the blacklist and not Kirk?
Somehow I find this more offensive in a death thread than "good riddance, rapist"...lol
Might be, I'm not really familiar with the whats and whos of the blacklist, tbh.
What's there to be offended by? People don't consistently live to be over a 100, and I saw Kirk in movies from the 1940's where he was an adult. I was genuinely surprised at this news. I'm sad that he's gone, because he's an absolute legend in the game, but I'm being 100% honest with my initial reaction.
