This is disgusting... but ultimately unsurprising, aside from supporting the repeal of net neutrality. I didn't know anyone that wasn't paid uber-millions by corporations actually thought repealing net neutrality was a good idea. Someone who thinks Venezuela's problems boil down to "socialism bad" is probably all too willing to support the worst aspects of capitalism, I guess.

Yeah but at this point they have to know people will eventually find this stuff and it will blow up on them eventually, therefore they could just either ask for it to be nuked or get someone else, then they don't have to deal with losing a key figure 1 year away from release.

People, even those with views absolutely abhorrent to myself and yourself, still have friends, bonds and all that shit. They're not actively walking around the world just being horrible and hating things. They aren't the villains of their stories. IPs like Harry Potter work because they're relatively bland in terms of messaging, it's not like it ever pushed any boundaries in acceptance, IPs like this resonate with all sorts of dickheads as well as the well-meaning.

feel like all of the posts about how could they have let this guy get where he is are naive. he got there because WB (and let's be clear here, practically every major publisher and studio) only cares when the bottom line gets threatened. they don't care, they just hope people don't notice. people noticed JKR's behavior and they distanced the game from her with ready-to-go copy. they will likely do the same again here, but they're not going to clean house. companies are content to play whack-a-mole when their reputation is under scrutiny, not because they're interested in changing.
