hokkaido is still a fun map. The object scarcity is a real challenge though.
One thing that really annoys me about it in Hitman 2. When you throw Soders' heart into the dustbin, in the original game there would be a shot of the heart landing in the bin, but in Hitman 2 that isn't showing at all. Don't know if it's a bug he's yet to fix.

Started playing the hitman 1 levels now, makes me wish I had played more of season 1 than not really playing after picking up on sale.

Game is great though not quite my GOTY but will be putting more hours into it to finish season 1. Hopefully the upgrade for Patient Zero content goes on sale over the steam Christmas sale. Looking forward to the next Elusive target.

hokkaido seems slightly bugged in general. I hard crashed twice trying to cut the fugu fish, and the sauna is still broken i think.

Nicely done. The top times were so close, I figured everyone was using the same strat.

Yeah, they seriously need to patch that back in.

I did both, fwiw.

From what I've read the sauna breaks when you save/reload before the occupants leave.
I've encountered a few problems with reloading breaking things. Just last night, I was doing the Paris opportunity Mission Story with Max Decker. I think it autosaved as Max called up Novikov to set up the meeting. A patrolling guard found my remote explosives so I reloaded and Max was standing at the meeting location on his cellphone, not saying anything and Novikov was just doing his regular routine. I had to reload an earlier autosave and escort him again.

Save/loads generally break AI pathing and it's the biggest frustration with the game at the moment. Makes learning things very hard.
I dropped a save after playing the 'intervention' tape in Bangkok and Jordan entered the room, stopped right before getting in position to be shot, then went back to his normal routine.
I dropped a save in Miami after getting into the android demo room as the general and the entire opportunity broke and I have to leave the area and find robert myself to get him downstairs.

Yeah. I completed the explosive liaisons challenge in Miami, but screwed up before exiting. After reloading Knox grew impatient in my conversation with him and wouldn't do anything after I gave him the trigger.

its worth learning what you can speedrun, but there is still an interminable period of waiting around for routines to complete sometimes.

I redid Colombia yesterday and that seemed particularly bad for having to chill out while NPCs did stuff to get from A to B

I found that out the hard way last night. I was setting up to shoot the car on the first level, but it didn't work out so I reloaded. I wasn't even in the map for a total of 5 minutes when I saved, but reloading still ended the race. Made it way more difficult to nail the shot since I had maybe 10 seconds to get the point and shoot her. Lol.

I had a weird save/reload bug earlier where when I aimed with the sniper rifle I was using, the scope was invisible and everything was blurry, like it is for everything outside of the scopes view usually.

Yeah I had that. Made doing SASO on colorado a pain as I was doing it via causing accidents via sniping. But the bug would happen on 50% of loads during that run.

Current Power Rankings for me
  1. S1 Sapienza: Perfect mix of targets and geography. Could add 2 targets and double the challenges and it would still be fun.
  2. S2 Mumbai Streets: Sapienza-like mix of geography. Always lots to do.
  3. S1 Paris Fashion Show: Perfect fantasy fulfillment for the franchise. You belong and yet you don't.
  4. S1 Japan: Still iconic. Puzzle and hit in one. Metal Gear-esque alternate solutions.
  5. S2 Suburbs: Could use a few more stories/challenges, but still brilliant. The conspiracy underlining it is great.
  6. S2 House: Hitman Go like minimalism. It's exciting, the stakes are high, and you feel powerful. Needs secret exits...
  7. S2 Columbia: 3 targets works perfectly for me. Mansion is too isolated but nowhere near as claustrophobic as Thailand.
  8. S2 Island of Sgail: Awesome execution, but very restricted area. Would have preferred 3 targets to 2 with a twist.
  9. S1 Marrakesh: With only two targets feels a bit of a chore. The expansion made it better...
  10. S2 Miami: Still coming to grips with the complexity, just feels like I can get around Mumbai much easier. Some of the challenges seem extremely timing based rather than setup based. Still some iconic moments though!
  11. S1 Colorado Farm: Would be so much better if they dumped the basement exit restriction
  12. S1 Thailand Hotel: Ultimately just too restricted and yet open, feels like hundreds of guards.
  13. S1 Training: Still like it, but it's obviously incomplete.
It's actually quite hard to rank the levels because there is nothing I dislike, except perhaps the Colorado and Japan zombie levels?

Happened to me once in Mumbai, but I just quit out of the game using the PS menu and reloaded, and it was fine ever since. I assumed at the time it was assigning the mumbai special scope to every sniper rifle.

the only thing i don't like about miami is that you're on a hidden timer before the race phase ends.

I think this happens when you load a save in which you were too close to a wall. Make sure there's space behind you when you save with a sniper rifle.

Where's an easy place to get a lever in Mumbai, or do I need to go to the train rooftop every time?

I beat this last night was super disappointed - not in the game, the game was fantastic and the last mission was awesome, but:

It reallllllly felt like there was going to be one more mission, then instead the game ends. I know DLC is coming but the end credits really took me by surprise there.

These games work more like Seasons than anything else so yeah.

I'm getting some weird checkerboard artifacts in-game after I installed the latest Nvidia drivers. I'd roll back, but Battlefield V won't let you launch unless you have the latest drivers.

Not really. The snow is kind of around the periphery of the level. I'm more talking about a level where the player can walk in heavy snow. Or if there is a snowstorm. I am picturing a Hitman level where the player can hide bodies under the snow. Maybe that could be a good idea.

Yeah, Silent Assassin has quite a few snow levels. St. Petersburg, Invitation to a Party, the Japan levels, etc. Blood Money had a Christmas Eve party too, but it was never snow so deep you could really do much with it.

I would like something like that, the Winter coat is a great outfit but doesn't really fit most of the locations.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but can I get a status update for the Escalation Missions in both HM1 & HM2?

Have they been ported in already? Or are they coming in the future?

This was one of my absolute favorite modes in HM1.

I stumbled across this surly Scotsman who does HM vids and one of them was a 'Kill everyone in Miami' challenge which i thought was a fairly entertaining watch.

I am just finishing up my playthrough of Hitman (2016). All level 20 masteries, just have to clean up the couple of bonus targets. I was ready to take some time off before Hitman 2, but...seeing that screen, with all of the challenge unlocks after completing a mission? Somehow, even more than the ridiculous antics of that video, that made me want to pull the trigger right now.

There's one escalation on Santa Fortuna already, 2 more planned this month (for Sgail and Santa Fortuna again). There are some escalations up for S1 maps, but not all of them iirc.

Most escalations on the old Hitman 1 maps are missing, there is only 1-2 in each. I'm waiting until they are ported, there are some that I still have left to play.

Yeah, I want a Hitman level in a ski resort.

I also want a cruise ship level.
