Hey Non-US Era! The field is finally starting to narrow in our endless fucking presidential election cycle with Beto O'Rourke dropping out after coasting at 0-3% for the last several weeks, and more to follow hopefully. But fuck it lets jump the gun and do a Non-US Vote! I'd do a candidate breakdown but I'm sure you're all painfully aware of most of our candidates and I'm too drunk to put in the effort.

Rules
1. If you live in the US, THIS POLL IS NOT FOR YOU. PLEASE DON'T VOTE!
2. I'm limiting this to candidates who have a conceivable chance of winning or at least show SOME potential, Sorry to the Delaneyiacs in the crowd :(
3. (Optional) Tell us why!

Time to foreignly influence a US election!

I'm usually voting social democrats or greens so i'd vote for bernie or warren.

Bernie is too old imo so in this case i'd go with warren.

Michelle Obama. But out of that lot listed... Sanders. (My thinking being it's time a socialist got a crack of the whip to see if they really can do it any better or worse.)

Bernie. He's the closest to the ideals I cherish as a European (free education, free healthcare, etc) and he's been on the right side of history throughout his career.

Bernie because he is the one who feels closest to the party I vote for where I live.

I kinda like Bernie, but my impression is that he would be considered such a "communist" that during his time in government the Republicans and possibly a few Democrats would make things pretty difficult.

And there are few names there that I do not recognize... I'd have to do a little research. For example, Andrew Yang... On the very surface (i.e. a very quick glancing a his campaign's website) he doesn't look too bad. But is there anything substantial to take in account that I don't know?

I won't vote in this poll because I live in the U.S., but I'm not American and don't have a right to vote in U.S. elections, so I'll chime in. I was rooting for Beto, but now that he dropped out, the only two candidates I like are Bernie and Warren, though I don't hate Biden as much as some people on here do. Between Sanders and Warren, the choice is really difficult. If they were the same age, I'd go Bernie all the way. But I fear his age will start being an issue by the time he's up for reelection and that would be a huge risk for Democrats. I guess I'm rooting for Bernie, but if I actually had to cast a vote myself, I'd probably pick Warren because she's still great and age probably won't be an issue for her.

I'm Austrian, and Sanders is/seems closest to what I vote for here in Austria. If you removed him, I'd pick Harris, but Sanders seems to be "my" choice for sure.

Edit: and while I know that the comparison is weak, as our president is probably much less "active" than the US one, our president is 3 years younger than Bernie, so age doesn't scare me.

I voted Bernie Sanders, because honestly ... that's the only one i know enough that he has at least a few of my key points...
on the top of my head, he broke his NRA links and shifted views on gun laws, was a voice in LGBT rights moments of need, is pro-choice, for single player medical care aid, for tuition free public college/universities and for a banishment of death penalty.
I think i remember he does not sit on corporations councils, and his revenues are royalties from his books.

I may not like that he wants to legalize some drugs nationwide, but it's a very personal issue so i am partial .

So, some others in the list may have same positions, but Sanders seemed better than Clinton last elections, and i always believed he would have won it against Trump... and i probably was in the wrong, perhaps Trump was inevitable.

Pete Buttigieg,Kamala Harris,Amy Klobuchar,Andrew Yang are absolutely unknown names to me.

I would vote for Andrew Yang because he brings a long of great progressive ideas to the table, mainly his "Freedom Dividend" which I believe is a great way to help the average Americans get by and it also recognises jobs that get ignored (stay at home moms for example). Last I checked he was for medicare for all which I think is how the Health Care system is supposed to be, and he has a fair approach in foreign policy that sort of aligns with Bernie.

Bernie.

He calls himself a Dem. Socialist but comes off as a Scandinavian Social Democrat. He would be a moderate here in Sweden.

lol it's pretty much a no brainer between Warren and Sanders, either would be acceptable to me.

They would bring your country into the 21st century.

Warren, probably. Sanders' is good, but his recent health doesn't bode well for a full 4 year term.
