I woke up one day last week with the theme for Goldeneye stuck in my head on the way to work. I think its definitely up there as one of the best, and is a textbook example of what you would think of as a "Bond Theme"... That said, the Bond movies all tend to have some really memorable accompanying tracks, some completely unlike the others — so I thought it might be interesting to poll ERA, and see what everyone's favourites are.

(...that and I've always wanted to make a thread with a poll!)

Sadly though, as you know, ERA only allows for a certain number of poll options, so here is the full list for reminder:

Sean Connery Era
"Bond Theme" + "Under the Mango Tree" - [Dr No, 1962]
"From Russia With Love" - Matt Monro [From Russia With Love, 1963]
"Goldfinger" - Shirley Bassey [Goldfinger, 1964]
"Thunderball" - Tom Jones [Thunderball, 1965]
"You Only Live Twice" - Nancy Sinatra [You Only Live Twice, 1967]

George Lazenby Era
"We Have All the Time in the World" - Louis Armstrong [On Her Majesty's Secret Service, 1969]

Sean Connery (returns)
"Diamonds Are Forever" - Shirley Bassey [Diamonds Are Forever, 1971]

Roger Moore Era
"Live and Let Die" - Paul McCartney & Wings [Live and Let Die, 1973]
"The Man With the Golden Gun" - Lulu [The Man with the Golden Gun, 1974]
"Nobody Does It Better" - Carly Simon [The Spy Who Loved Me, 1977]
"Moonraker" - Shirley Bassey [Moonraker, 1979]
"For Your Eyes Only" - Sheena Easton [For Your Eyes Only, 1981]
"All Time High" - Rita Coolidge [Octopussy, 1983]
"A View to a Kill" - Duran Duran [A View to a Kill, 1985]

Timothy Dalton Era
"The Living Daylights" - A-ha [The Living Daylights, 1987]
"License to Kill" - Gladys Knight [Licence to Kill, 1989] [better audio vers]

Pierce Brosnan Era
"GoldenEye" - Tina Turner [GoldenEye, 1995]
"Tomorrow Never Dies" - Sheryl Crow [Tomorrow Never Dies, 1997]
"The World Is Not Enough" - Garbage [The World Is Not Enough, 1999]
"Die Another Day" - Madonna [Die Another Day, 2002]

Daniel Craig Era
"You Know My Name" - Chris Cornell [Casino Royale, 2006]
"Another Way To Die" - Jack White & Alicia Keys [Quantum of Solace, 2008]
"Skyfall" - Adele [Skyfall, 2012]
"Writing's On The Wall" - Sam Smith [Spectre, 2015]

If your favourite isn't in the poll pick "Other" and leave a post.

---Bonus question: Of your favourites, which one would you say is the best?---
EDIT:
"A View to a Kill" is such a great song, but such a bad Bond theme...
Hmmmm... ---Bonus question #2: Which is your least favourite / worst Bond song?---

"A View to a Kill" is such a great song, but such a bad Bond theme...

Casino Royale was a great 'modern' Bond song, imho.

We have this thread every few months.

I'll post a song from the last thread which I only recently learned is a Bond song (and it's a good one).

Gotta throw another voice for " you know my name " . It is defintly the best of the new era Bond songs , and stand with the classics .

People seem to looove Skyfall but I never liked it. For me, peak Bond is always going to be Casino Royale and everything associated with it. This includes You Know My Name. Great song and great opening graphics, too. So much style and energy.

It is outrageous A View to a Kill isn't in the poll. But yeah, that's my pick.

It's Carly Simon. I understand why it didn't make the poll as it would have been a complete drubbing otherwise. Fair play to you. But it's Carly Simon.

I voted for You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever, and Goldeneye. I also really like You Know My Name and A View To A Kill. My absolute favorite is a tie between You Only Live Twice and You Know My Name, choosing one over the other is like basically the same as Sophie's Choice.

1. It's still View To A Kill slightly over Live and Let Die
2. I hate Die Another Day with a passion, both the movie and the song.

I was actually tempted to add this as a "Thor 2: The Dark World"-style joke option when I was making the thread, but with so poll options being so limited, I felt it would have been disrespectful to the other legit songs I was already forced to neglect haha.

I just wish ERA had more polling options so I could have made everything available and limited people to 3 choices.

My favourites are definitely

Live and Let Die
We Have All he Time in the World
Nobody Does it Better
You Know My Name

Hard to pick a favourite. Probably Live and Let Die.

Worst is a tie between

Man With the Golden Gun
Die Another Day

WHOA-OH-OHOH THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS

Yeah, The Living Daylights for me followed by You Know My Name by Chris Cornell. The latter for me was the last decent Bond song.
