Ive been using rest mode This whole time and haven't had any issues, but I did have issues with the external I had so I'm not gonna to plug it up for now.
What was your external issue?

System was kinda freezing or non-responsive. Its a NVME in an enclosure but a kinda obscure company.
Miles has some bad crashes, but I think whether or not it becomes a serious issue depends on what is happening in the background when it crashesJust got my PS5. Has this been patched? Also is the issue only with Spider-Man Remastered? I have Miles and Demon's Souls.
This is the first I've heard this theory. Where did you see that?Seems like most Spider-Man related issues are due to fidelity mode- go with performance mode to be safe...
I asked multiple people on multiple threads which mode they were playing when it crashed. Obviously small sample size and not super accurate but everyone I asked said they fidelity mode when they crashedMiles has some bad crashes, but I think whether or not it becomes a serious issue depends on what is happening in the background when it crashes

Sounds to me that it's more likely that more people are just playing on fidelity mode and thus more crashes are occurring in this mode.Small sample size, but my only issue I've had was on fidelity.
that is very well possible, in my case I played most of the game in performance. Either way, sounds like thats not the problem.Sounds to me that it's more likely that more people are just playing on fidelity mode and thus more crashes are occurring in this mode.
Edit: To add further anecdotal context, i finished the entire game on fidelity and experienced no crashes.
My thoughts exactly. It's the same thing as blaming rest mode and wired LAN. They are just too common among all users to prove a causative correlation. So far the only mitigating action I've taken is closing Spider-Man completely before entering rest modeSounds to me that it's more likely that more people are just playing on fidelity mode and thus more crashes are occurring in this mode.

I don't want to jinx it, but after the system update I played over an hour of Miles Morales and a couple of hours of Cold War multiplayer with no issues so far.
About to start miles morales/remastered. Is this game still fucking up ps5s or am I safe now?
I'm not sure this was ever a thing to begin with. I certainly never saw any sort of confirmation. I think people assumed these games were causing issues because they were some of the most popular launch games.
Anecdotal, but I put both Miles Morales and SM: Remastered into rest mode since launch and never had a crash, and I'm using an external SSD and a LAN cable as well.About to start miles morales/remastered. Is this game still fucking up ps5s or am I safe now?
COD: Cold War did that to me (twice) but I've never had it happen in either Miles or SM: Remastered.I mean I have played a lot of games on the PS5 and Miles Morales was the only one that made my PS5 shut down completely, i've literally had zero issues otherwise.
