$700 high-end GPUs we hardly knew ye. No DLSS is the main thing but our 2017 gem is still hanging in there.

Whoever got this thing at launch (before the crypto boom of 2018) really hit the jackpot. Still no reason to replace all these years later.

Yeah the 1080 Ti is still great tbh. Basically just a 2070 super without the tensor cores. Depending on the games you play and ofc settings, the 10 series holds up shockingly well too. My nephew's gaming on a 1060 6gb and gets a locked 60fps at 1080p in everything he plays (mostly esports stuff like Warzone and Apex but still). My 1080 did great for me at 1440p til I replaced it last year.

I should never have sold mine. Just before the 30 series was announced in September 2020, I sold my trusty EVGA 1080 Ti in preparation for what I assumed would be launch where I could get a 3080 within 2-3 months.

What a fool I was.

Got mine at launch
Skipped 2000 line to wait for 3000
3080/990 impossible to find a year later
Still using 1080ti

lol I love this card but I really do want to upgrade for DLSS/RTX and for playing stuff like RDR2, Days Gone, Horizon, etc on PC with all the bells and whistles.

Maybe now I should wait for the 4000s? Lol

I had a 1060 6gb then went to the 1080Ti as a stop gap upgrade when the future started to look grim for GPU prices and was shocked at how good this thing is. I can't imagine there being a better deal than buying a 1080Ti in 2017 for $650 anytime soon again.

It's a card you don't have to upgrade unless you play at 1440p high refresh, 1440p Ultrawide or 4K, and even then you can still tweak in a lot of cases to hit the mark. I went to a 3070 and don't regret it one bit, but if I hadn't been able to get one, I'd still be happy with the 1080Ti

My 1080ti is still doing great, just a shame I was an idiot and didn't think about noise levels when I bought this years ago--the thing is pretty loud, even when undervolted. That and DLSS are definitely the main reasons why I want to upgrade sometime next year.

I sold my 1080 for $450 last week. Covered over half of the cost of my 3070 purchase. Both that and the bigger brother hold ridiculously well today.

i'd still be rocking mine if it weren't fried (which i believe had something to do with the crappy PSU)

It's still a very solid card for smooth 1080p/1440p gaming. The 1000s series were always really amazing, realiable line of GPUs imo.

Yep, it was an amazing card in retrospect. Recently was able to grab a 3080 "Tie" for unfortunately kind of high but still MSRP price and sold the said 1080Ti on eBay for impressively decent sum considering card's age. Heck , its still quite a trooper and absolutely in 2070+ range (discounting RTX and DLSS of course).

Not a 1080, but I wish have got a 1660 Super when they had a reasonable price. Now only can find them twice the price, and used.

I had the lesser 1070, but it was a beast at the time and the best bang-for-buck card I've ever bought. It even let me use shittily performing software-based RTX. Those were the days...

I never loved a PC component quite as much as my 1080ti. Got it at RRP in 2017, and used it up until I managed to snag my 3080 also at RRP last year. But it doesn't surprise me that, even if I had not lucked out with the 3080, I would have still been alright with the 1080ti. It's just that good.

It's an awesome card. I definitely recommend it for anyone who doesn't care about ray-tracing. The only recent game that didn't maintain constant 60 fps that I tried was The Medium, which is a demanding game no matter what.

The 1080ti was such a god tier card.

If the Ada Lovelace rumors are true.....and we are getting another Maxwel to Pascal jump in power.

Ada is going to be a frikken beast.
Hopper being even stronger is insane to even think about.

I upgraded from my 1080ti this year because I was lucky enough to find a 3000 series.

But it was one of the best purchases I've ever made. I'm still debating if I want to sell the card on it's own, or try to sell my old PC a as a whole.

3080 is the perfect upgrade, same type of price/perf value. Silly me thought I could buy a PS5 first and pick up a 3080 a little bit later.

I bought a 1080Ti back in late 2017, and it's still serving me well. I'll probably replace it eventually to get ray tracing support, but I don't game on PC enough to justify that yet.

I remember waiting for them to hit 2070 prices, but that never happened, so I never got one lol

I love my 1080ti - ended up getting a AIO water-cooling kit for it to make things a bit quieter.

I got lucky and snagged a 3080 near launch, but haven't thought about selling the 1080ti off. What would be the best place to do that these days? Since it's an aftermarket water kit, not sure how that would go.

Yup, got at launch and still using it! I felt sick at the time, never bought a top-end card before, but so glad I went for it. I usually just buy mid-ranges and upgrade periodically, but that's impossible right now.

I really hope it doesn't die, lol.

Don't think $400-500 would be a problem in todays market, probably more with a water kit.
