Ready to pull the trigger but waiting to see if a bog standard vive and the original controllers impedes the game
Aside from the inherent pain of using the Vive wands, you should be good to go!Does this game work with the original htc vive? Thats all i got laying around somewhere.
I'm a complete dumb-dumb.
Just realized my system doesnt have enough RAM--DOH!
Min requirements are:
I have:
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor: Core i5-7500 / Ryzen 5 1600
- Memory: 12 GB RAM
- Graphics: GTX 1060 / RX 580 - 6GB VRAM
1) Is my CPU too old? I tried finding comparison charts, but had no solid luck.
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor: Intel Core i7 3770K
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: GTX 1070 (8GB)
- Mobo: Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe
2) I need more RAM! Is the Crucial website still good for finding compatible RAM automatically? If not, who is better? Corsair still awesome?
I'm sooooooo bummed! :(
I have no doubt that people are going to be amazed at how VR changes the entire experience. I am super ready for this. This game is going to blow people's minds who got VR just for it. Excited to see reactions and give some later today!
Most Steam stuff releases when the store refreshes at 10AM PST/1PM EST
I've been playing a ton of other VR titles with the laptop, Boneworks, Space Pirate Trainer, H3VR, Blade & Sorcery - all work great or they did over the weekend when I was testing the setup. So, hoping Alyx runs as smoothly too.Laptops and VR often don't play super nice together.
Give it a shot but if I were you I would just wait until I got back to my beast rig at home.
I have the same question actually. Where are the Supersampling options in the new SteamVR?
edit: You need to have the headset plugged in.

I'd love to see that, and his BreenGrub exercise.I wonder if we'll see any hint or implication the Laidlaw's Epistle 3 has any relevance in the story. Because that Epistle was a damn good story.

You probably want more RAM, faster RAM too. Low speed DDR3 RAM could potentially be a bottleneck in VR games where consistent high framerate is key.
Apparently the Oculus PC environment/drivers will apply their own supersampling so you don't want to double up with SteamVR (killing performance).Sorry if I'm being a dumb-dumb, but is this worthwhile to look at for an owner of a Quest like me who'll be running ALYX through Link? Will this basically help me getting better performance (should I need it) on a i7-6700/980TI?

No idea. I could be wrong. I just followed the chatter on the last page.
Today is the day I leap head first into a wall to dodge a headcrab.
Leeets gooooo!!!
Anyone good going to be streaming this? I don't have VR but definitely want to watch.
