I remember there was one guy from dustloop forum who ran us down for sucking in other IRCs and was talking mad shit on us (I think it was that crazy good heavyarms player) and then someone in our IRC snitched us out talking about them talking shit. I remember one of them in particular going after me for being unpleasant or something. well no shit, we were an irc full of casual players not dudes aiming for EVO what did you expect lol
The NA community for Full Boost got really kinda toxic towards the end and it carried over into Gundam Versus. There were a couple of streamers who straight up quit because of it. Hopefully those kids have all grown up now and won't ruin this game!
Yeah, I remember that the NorCal FGC for Gundam (I'm talking like HellaBrett and a few others) ended up getting involved too. But yeah, it was a clear divide in objectives; we were more casual and they were more competitive, so it was never really going to work out.
Now the FB community... yeah, there were some people (who I believe came from GameFAQs) that were
hella toxic. And I know there was one player in particular who sent hate mail (I want to say... Hikaru was his handle? dunno if I'm remembering right). A lot of folks were being extra as fuck considering that the scene is too small and if you wanted to be ultra competitive, an average JPN player would beat the brakes off of anyone except maybe Donkey's brother or Brett. Hopefully people have chilled out since then and just want to play, at all skill levels.
