Not exactly my cuppa, but am so happy that MS is letting projects like this continue. I hope more studios are given the opportunity to do these small, experimental passion projects (looking at you 343i, the Coalition, and Turn 10).

I could understand this reaction. If I said something like "Wow Obsidian is garbage now" but I didn't. Still very much looking forward to their future output just not this one game.
Not really my thing but its good to see them doing something different to what they usually do.
So Ninja Theory and now Obsidian, is it a trend? Buy studio best known for single player narrative games, have them make multiplayer things?

Personally for me to get genuinely excited I need:

My statement (I may have quoted you) was really directed to those who said they are "done" with Obsidian and blaming MS for this game
Not really into this sort of game, but as long as it means their other teams can eventually pump out another great RPG, I don't really care.
They are never going to make another isometric RPG after how badly Tyranny and Pillars II flopped, huh?

Made by a small team of 13 people. Outer Worlds was around 70-80. Obsidian is around 200 people total iirc.
If this is made by ex-Pillars devs I guess that team is disbanded now. That makes me incredibly sad.
Looks like a good game my SO and I could enjoy together.
This might be sarcasm, but just trying to prevent misinformation. The project was started before the acquisition.
Looks like they straight up borrowed Smalland's idea. Although that game has been in development hell for a while iirc.

I agree with you, but only takes one or two people to read it straight and take it as fact and run with it.
It was already in development before Microsoft bought them. You would rather Microsoft cancel this outright?
