Im 2 hours in and maaaaan this is soo soo gooood. Reminds me so much of Risen 1. Which is one of my favorite RPGs of all time.
People told me that Elex was worth buying too, so I'm a little sceptical.
But it was. ELEX is one of the best games this gen.
If you didn't like it, then you might not enjoy GreedFall because there's no hope for you.
...Kidding, at least about the hope thing. Seriously though, ELEX and GreedFall are cut from somewhat similar cloths. GreedFall is a lot less hardcore about the deadly world and has a bit more focus, so it's a bit closer to something like Dragon Age in that respect, but they're similar veins of Eurojank.
See, I think Elex was an absolutely awful mess of a game with zero redeeming qualities.
For the achievements it looks like it requires many playthrough? Or maybe save states in certain places? Anyone got a guide?

I'm not sure why anyone is really using Elex as a barometer, this is a game using early console Bioware (and the Witcher 2, which Spiders has aped in every game so far) as a model, which is basically the inverse of Pirahna Bytes style games.
Was this Kotaku review posted? Seems disingenuous to handwring about the story potentially not dealing with the colonial setting properly when you've only played 10 hours of the game and don't know what all the quests are building up to for the ending.
The game really needs a demo.. I am so so about buying it and will probably end up skipping it if I cant try it before purchase.
Hmm.. you are right. I think I might do that in the weekend, though is it safe to use the 1 hour refund limit as a "demo?" Or will it have repercussions? If you're on PC you could always make use of Steam's refund period.

Should be fine. I've refunded quite a lot of games on Steam and they never refused me even once.Hmm.. you are right. I think I might do that in the weekend, though is it safe to use the 1 hour refund limit as a "demo?" Or will it have repercussions?

You can request a refund for nearly any purchase on Steam—for any reason. Maybe your PC doesn't meet the hardware requirements; maybe you bought a game by mistake; maybe you played the title for an hour and just didn't like it.
It doesn't matter. Valve will, upon request via help.steampowered.com, issue a refund for any reason, if the request is made within the required return period, and, in the case of games, if the title has been played for less than two hours. There are more details below, but even if you fall outside of the refund rules we've described, you can ask for a refund anyway and we'll take a look.

GreedFall is a welcome arrival in the fantasy RPG space, a space that has been bafflingly uncrowded of late. But it doesn't just impress because of a lack of alternatives. It successfully delivers nearly everything that one would want to see in a game of this genre, and does so in convincing fashion. Fans of western role playing games who have lamented the absence of many true contenders in the genre this generation, prepare yourselves: a new heir to the legacy of BioWare is here at last.
Negatives
- The movement is not as smooth and '' responsive '' as I'd like it to be
Getting really terrible performance on PC with a i54690k and a Gtx1080ti. Really enjoyed what I played so far but the performance is so bad I had to stop :(
Yeah, I find I just gravitate towards looking at the subtitles instead of the characters because of it.It's a good game but my god the lipsync is so bad. Gets you out of it really fast.
hmm 50 euros, for some reason i thought this was going to be a 39.99 euro game. Still tempted though, first need to finish control.

That looks good in a glance, but it totally takes away the atmosphere. If anyone is interested, here is a Reshade which tones down the brown/sepia effect (works for the PC version of the game):
