Heads up, if you took part in the LSIA glitch, R* is taking the money back. Reports are popping up on GTAF. Had a friend of a friend get hit. /shrug

It seems like this is only a money wipe though. People are saying that vehicles and property purchases with the funds remain untouched.

Man, the RC Bandito is absolute gold for messing with people doing Hold Your Ground. Some dude got suuuuper salty with me yesterday after he killed himself three times trying to blow it up. He was following me around the map trying to kill me when the event was over. Dude, why are you mad at me?! You're the one who killed you.

Yep this thing is well worth the price of the arena workshop to unlock. I use it for combo kills all the time. Take someone down through normal means and quickly queue up the Bandito to run them down a second time.

I have more money than I know what to do with and nothing I really want, so I've decided to get a couple of the Arena Wars vehicles to use for goofing around in free roam. The only ones I've driven are the Death Bike, the Issi, and the RC Bandito. Even though I have plenty of money, I don't like the idea of wasting it and these vehicles are stupid expensive. Does anyone have thoughts on some of the others that they'd be willing to share?

I believe that all of the vehicles that aren't based on existing cars/bikes suffer from the advanced handling flags.

For looks I recommend the Apocalypse Imperator. Remove the scoop and clean it up a bit and it's the Mad Max Interceptor. I mean, who doesn't want one of those?

I initially bought the Nightmare Dominator, and the tombstone was fun to troll NPCs with, but it's heavy and it just wasn't much fun to drive when compared to something like the ZR380. I sold it probably a month after I bought it. Don't miss it.

The ZR380 is an excellent vehicle overall. I like it so much I bought two; a stripped-down Apocalypse version for cruising and a Future Shock version to trick out for AFK kills and the event that I might actually... possibly maybe enter the arena.

I also bought an Impaler that I stripped down to stock because I'm a Supernatural fan. Car drives like ass though.

Feel free to join me if you see me online. I'll let you test drive anything.

I've been watching the Giant Bomb streams of the online heists and they look pretty fun. Thinking about picking up the game just to play online with two other friends on PC. Is the game still worth jumping in to fresh on PC in 2019?

I played through the single player on Xbox 360 way back when, so it'd just be for Online.

I dipped my toe into the online years ago and absolutely hated it. Got a new TV recently, was missing GTA stuff and found the single player pointless after beating it. Was jealous of all the extra stuff they'd added to the online mode.

Didn't have any friends who were playing the online and hated getting griefed constantly or having a bunch of pre-teens shouting all the time.

Got a digital copy that came with enough in-game currency to get a foothold on the world and have activities, also figuring out how to shut off the voice chat and how to cheat a bit and access an open, but solo, online lobby removed everything that I hated and I've been loving the online since.

Should be great if you have some friends to play with, I'm just enjoying it as a solo chillout game while listening to music.

Oh ok sounds pretty similar to me, although I am hoping to have a couple friends join occasionally.

I'll look in to getting some currency and how to setup a solo online lobby.

If you start with a CEO office or biker clubhouse you can run missions solo to earn some decent money. If you sell when product is valued around $200k you can usually handle the deliveries in time without a friend. Getting the Opressor MKII flying motorcycle and biker clubhouse can really cut back on the grinding and make travelling the map very easy allowing you to get back quickly for the 2nd batch of product.

you can use the biker perks to order up the MKII for free just about anywhere on the map.

Flying in, blowing up everything with MKII missiles, and flying back to base makes many missions a breeze, though you need the Terrorbyte to upgrade the MKII.

I strongly caution against buying any in-game currency. It's horribly overpriced for a game this age, especially when considering how broken the in-game economy is now. There are plenty of guides that can show you how to get started and build your income without giving R*/T2 a cent beyond the initial price of the game. Check out YouTube GTA channels like The Professional and Tylarious tips on how best to spend your time working for cash.

Be careful on PC. Modding is common and modders can/will break your game, or even put you on R*'s shit list by giving you modded money and items. Always be aware of what's going on in public PC sessions. R* does little to combat rampant modding, but they sure as fuck will not hesitate to screw you over as soon as you affect their potential shark card sales.

That said, there's still nothing out there like GTA Online. For all its short comings and problems, it's still a GTA experience online. Try to find a crew to play with and dedicate some time and you'll find that it's still potentially one of the best experiences this generation.

Looks like the Summer update (early July?) will involve the casino. They've updated props around the casino, and apparently they're scripted to update week by week in the lead up to release.

Hmm, cool, people have been wanting the casino to open for years. I wonder if they'll do something unique with it or will it be a business where you have to do some busywork and then do sell missions in a public lobby. I mean, I'll still buy if it's that but still.

Been forever since I looked in on GTA:O. Anything new since the Night Club patch?

Not sure I remember seeing that "chinook" helicopter, though.

Yeah there was the Arena Wars DLC, that has a Mad Max theme. You can buy a workshop and garage at the stadium, and then there are obviously the game modes and vehicles to go with that.

The chinook-ish helicopter ("Cargobob") has been in the game since launch though.

I meant that helicopter from that recent gif. I might have thought of the wrong "real world" helicopter.

That's the "Avenger" based on the real-world "Osprey".
It was added in the Doomsday update. It acts as an arial command center. It's similar to the MOC that was added in the Gunrunning update.

ExitPlanetDust I saw your Act 2 youtube video. Not bad!

Having done Act 2 a hell of a lot, I found the methods below to work the best for me in terms of how easy they were, and how quickly you could get it done. They're worth checking out to see if they work for you.

For the Avenger team, this one is just as easy, but allows for a way quicker getaway (and means you can get the Elite challenge done every time, for some bonus cash):

This is the path I take through the sub, you can get it done in roughly 1:30 this way:

Hey endlessflood thanks. I really like the route through the sub you posted. I think it's a bit faster than mine. Though I would say mine's slightly safer. Fewer blind corners (we only play free aim and I was on remote play here ;).

I'm familiar with the Avenger on the Beach method. We learned of the Avenger in Town method from YouTuber JK Gamers I think. It's pretty fool proof in that you don't have to rely on an inexperienced player's lack of skill. No chance of plunging it into the ocean or wrecking it into the trees. The Vigilante and a steady hand usually guarantee the bonus.

Very nicely done!

I haven't actually been back on GTAO since the new Simeon missions came out. Are they any good? The literal GTA-style contact missions (i.e. stealing and delivering cars to a time limit) were always my favourite.

I've mostly been playing Red Dead Online, but the casino will probably be enough to tempt me back online. I think I still have $16 million in the bank or something, so should be good to go.

Thanks! And yes most of the Simeon missions are pretty well made. There are only two I avoid; one where you have to use a couple of Cargo Bobs to transport cars that takes forever, and another that has players putting out car fires while fending off a rival gang. These two just aren't much fun. GTA Today II is probably my favorite. It's better balanced than the original and is a lot of fun to challenge yourself with a solo run.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Casino update. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a copy/paste of previous businesses. I'm sitting on on about 22 mil right now so I think I'll be alright. I'm more excited about the prospect of bug fixes and MKII nerfs. It's sad that we have to wait for major updates for R* to address glaring issues with the game now.

I've been watching a bunch of fun GTAO videos with content creators like Fail Race, and really getting an itch to jump back in.

I finished the single player and played a lot of Online back on PS3. Will my account/stuff carry over if I buy the base PS4 version?

Currently playing Watchdogs 2 so I really don't need another modern day open world game, but for 13 GBP it's pretty tempting to play again.
Such good times with friends a few years back.

They offered that (the ability to transfer your online character from previous gen) for a while, but eventually they switched it off. Because the previous gen consoles had been hacked, people would load characters up with a billion dollars and then transfer them to current gen.

Ah ok, makes sense. I guess starting over wouldn't be so bad. Is it still pretty active?

That was a good grind session. The stream read 6 hours when we quit. Probably could have gone longer if I didn't have to leave to pick someone up. Insane money to be made this week. Probably the best week to make non glitched money ever.

With the casino set to launch soon it's a good time to cash in on a Twitch Prime offer I just saw advertised:
Get GTA$1,250,000 in GTA Online and up to 15% bonus GTA$ on all Shark Cash Card purchases

If you're already an Amazon Prime subscriber Twitch Prime is included free, I just connected my Twitch account w/ Amazon, then connected it with the Rockstar Social club to get 1.25 Mil and some Red Dead 2 bonuses "RDO$300 and the Superior Ammo Bundle in Red Dead Online".

Hopefully I can find some time to make bank before all this week's other online bonuses expire.

BourbonJungle PS4 right? Send me a pm with your PSN if you haven't already. We're running a rotation of Terrorbyte contact missions between 3 or more players to avoid cool downs while our businesses produce. We drop into a quiet public session and sell once the product is ready, buy supplies to keep them producing, and then it's back to a friends session to run client jobs again.

I estimate everyone in the group is making over 1.5 million an hour.

I'm not an online gamer, but thought I'd give this a shot. I'm enjoying myself, except for being constantly inundated with calls to buy shit I have nowhere close enough to pay with. That, and idiots on those flying rocket/bikes getting on my damn nerves.

I love sessions like last night where I was the only one there, so I could do supply runs in peace.

If you're on PS4 I have a simple trick I can share to pretty much guarantee you solo sessions.

I saw it on youtube a few days ago. I'll probably give it a go.

Really easy to flip on and off, sometimes there'll still be people in my session but they may also be using the trick to play solo and don't bother me. I think they may actually get booted from the session if they get too close to me. This has pretty much saved GTA Online for me as I've had too many sessions where griefing players have prevented me from making progress and actually set me back a fair ways.
