And you know someone is going to call their kid Corona.I wonder how many babies are gonna result in these mandatory lockdowns. A CV baby boom is coming.

I went to the target by Milpitas and there were quite a few people there but no one was practicing social distancing lining up closely and what not.My SO went out for a couple things (actually found wipes at Costco!) and said there was barely anyone around, even inside the essential stores. Lots of measurements in place to keep spacing/touching things, too. I checked Google Maps during rush hour and all was green. Most people are definitely abiding by it.
Thank God. If I couldn't even go to the park for a walk or something, I would lose it. haha
Foreal I haven't heard anyone ask that yet either. All of us are about to be on the streets if that doesn't get suspended or we don't get checks. My friend just got fired from her job so shit is going down.
What about the large, retail stores that sell groceries? Like Walmart or Target? I work at a Walmart and was smart enough to do an early LOA starting Monday, but forgot that I need to pick up my W2 from personnel.

Like I said in another post they call suspend all these bills but in the end once all this is over with the creditors want their money.I was listening to the press conference Q&A afterwards with newsom, and not one fucking reporter asked such a basic question the minds of millions of people: What's going to happen to their bills than need to be paid? (unless i missed it)
So? It would still help curb the spread of the virus even if its not enforceable and many ignore it!

Yes as long as you stay 6ft away from people. Obviously there will be times where you come across others on the street and can't maintain 6ft distance but I think police look for people who are just standing around talking in public more than anything.
I agree, but you'd think people would be wary of it.I'd say that should be more on the store to try to enforce it themselves. I saw a video of a Costco somewhere, that used shopping carts and pallets to seperate coming/going lines. I mean, if the stores themselves want to be safe, it would be good to have it enforced.
Our landlord (LA) said they will be flexible on payments and late fees but frankly that's bullshit. There shouldnt be rent for April straight up.So....was anything said yet about mortgage, rent, utilities, and credit/loan payments being put on pause yet in cali??
The prospect of half of Californians being infected got me worried. Barely go outside anymore other than getting food.
You can't really force creditors to not collect on debt.I was listening to the press conference Q&A afterwards with newsom, and not one fucking reporter asked such a basic question on the minds of millions of people: What's going to happen to their bills that need to be paid? (unless i missed it)
This is fine if it's like the Bay Area. Just keep your distance from others and don't play on the playground. It's okay to go outside, get some fresh air and get exercise.
I don't think this is allowed. Visiting isn't the same as caring for. Since she's in a nursing home they probably view that as the point of care where as you visiting isn't a requirement for her care.
Edit: This is the FAQ from Santa Clara County which says no:
You're fine to visit her at your discretion. Nobody is going to arrest you over it as we aren't under Martial Law.
It's a horrible feeling not being able to check on my dad (they refuse to allow visitors at his nursing home). The staff at my mom's facility said it was ok as long as we stay outside. They shouldn't allow visiting at all, and you should not be physically going to see your mother.
You won't get in trouble for it (this is about communal activity and crowding, not a person who's checking up on the folks), but it's dangerously irresponsible to interact with anybody in a nursing home right now.
Sure. That point being when it is safe.Yep. I'm off till April 6th and be honest I'm ready to go back to work. At some point places are going to have to reopen.
Your dad's facility is handling this better. It's a horrible feeling not being able to check on my dad (they refuse to allow visitors at his nursing home). The staff at my mom's facility said it was ok as long as we stay outside.
Otherwise my mom is screaming her lungs out over the phone for me to get her out of there which is practically impossible right now.

Gonna have to see if this will affect my job. Work in an electronic contract manufacturing company.
Not true. It's possible they decide that keeping the lockdown might be worse in the long run and are forced to open things up.
The government needs to do something about all the people and businesses that are at risk right now.
How has a moratorium on rent and other bills not already been established?
I was born and raised in Alturas so I can second that the people are stubborn and backwards at times. I hope they make the right choices for the safety of my family but like you say, lots of tinfoil hats there.Susanville, CA.
It's about as isolated from the rest of California as you can get (80 miles from Reno) on the eastern side of the Sierra's.
It's conservative as fuck.
I work for US Cellular and this is what I've heard
It's the flu, the Chinese invented it to get back at us for killing NAFTA, Corona is another word for flu, etc.
These people are ignorant and stupid and once this thing blows up here (which it will), it's going to be ugly. The hospital here can't handle a major outbreak.
Worse in what way? Forced by what circumstances? I'm trying to understand what you're saying . I am trying to not jump to the awful conclusion you're worrying about economic consequences in the face of a pandemic that could wipe millions of Americans off this planet within the next year. Not true. It's possible they decide that keeping the lockdown might be worse in the long run and are forced to open things up.
I wish there was some guidance given the vast diversity of jobs that could easily be considered essential beyond the obvious like grocery workers and nurses.
We work on DX rated military programs, which are given "the highest national priority." It would seem self evident that we can't shut down given the implications to the military supply chain, but there is zero guidance on this from the state.
Essential services will remain open such as:
- Gas stations
- Pharmacies
- Food: Grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, take-out and delivery restaurants
- Banks
- Laundromats/laundry services
Essential state and local government functions will also remain open, including law enforcement and offices that provide government programs and services.
What's closed?
- Dine-in restaurants
- Bars and nightclubs
- Entertainment venues
- Gyms and fitness studios
- Public events and gatherings
- Convention Centers
Lol I'm

They do provide some guidance here:

Honestly, if you're not a retail establishment I don't really think the police are going to start raiding office buildings (unless there's a snitch), but that's for the company to decide I guess.
This still isn't a ticket for standing too close to someone on the sidewalk. This is a parking ticket at the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens, which are closed due to the virus and the shutdown order. I think it's hard to justify going there as "essential".No price on the ticket, but I imagine the person who took the picture wanted to hide their name.
lmao we're looking at millions dead because of a virus but the economy, guys, the economy.
Get people food, shelter, healthcare, and security. Nothing else matters right now. Get that UBI flowing, freeze rent, whatever. Do it.
Our household has been in unofficial quarantine for the last ~5 days and now I guess it's legit.
