I know, I've done development for both ecosystems. Your average idiot user is going to have quite the time with that. The other thing is without any real distro model where are they making money? It'll fold super quick.

For those acting like sideloading is "no big deal," remember that a bunch of Parler users gave up when they had to use special characters in their password. Any sort of speed bump to joining drastically reduces the number of people willing to join.

Password definition rules have always been a hinderance, to even computer minded people. Side loading and the steps to do it will be far easier for them to follow.
What I'm saying is:

Disable their cdn access

People this frustrated by a special character will not be able to easily side load. Many will not know what that is, and still not understand after being explained.
I bet they also try to go the Gab route and head for Mastodon ( for those who can figure it out) so hopefully those running clients get ahead of it and begin banning domains and sub domains
Now that Trumps presidency is ending and they don't have to fear retribution in the form of monopoly investigations or whatever they are finally taking action. after the damage is done.

Not as many Android owners download apps outside the Play Store so this would still hurt their platform a lot, especially in regards to discovery/finding the app in the first place.
