Honestly that goes for almost all competitive games. Imagine a fighting game or RTS with the lag shown in the AC: Odyssey bit.I simply will not play an FPS game from a data center. Imagine trying to compete with additional input lag.
Because the outdated hardware will still produce much better results than a streaming service. The image quality is going to be complete shit no matter how powerful the hardware is and as already mentioned, there will be terrible input lag. How's playing games on outdated hardware better value? This service will provide much better hardware rendering and graphics tech. Also, I can play my games on any device. That provides more value for me than playing games on a traditional console.
Most places still do not have data caps
Having the required speed for 4K game streaming is a different story, though
Bingo! I have unlimited data and 400Mbps connection with Comcast and Fiber coming this year too and full Gigabit wired house and I still don't trust this.We need to see data usage before we get excited.
We need to see recommended internet speeds.
We need to see real world latency.
I mean, they kinda just challenged the community to hack them.
People sometimes just want to hate. I was apart of Project Stream and it worked extremely well.People have already used this service and said it was better than PSNow.....
I'll just say that I think this is all really exciting and definitely something we'll use in the future BUT this isn't the first time someone has done this so it really depends on if it can function as promised.
You have to account for the wildest scenarios.
