Wait where is this "It's thinking again" coming from? Also, yeah, that's kind of creepy and reminds me of the Kinect memes from the XB1 pre-launch
xbox-one-kinect-meme.jpg
A guy on GAF said it was official. But maybe he just saw the Era banner :)

OP is that your banner ? Or the official ? I mean the slogan, is it your idea ?
The fate of Dreamcast 2 is in your hands :)

How does cloud streaming solve mid-game load times? You realize that these games are still going to be running off of more-or-less the same hardware that you now have in your home, right? People seem to think that the cloud is some magical thing that will completely make hardware performance considerations irrelevant.
Idk, I was going by what I read in here that google says they want to get rid of loading

It wouldn't take too much for Google to enter the fight against the big boys plus they need some of that gaming money, If they can lower the barrier (Buying an expensive console) that's really good and have exclusives with all the 3rd party, I'll buy

Very interested in this. Could def be down for a cheap subscription streaming video game service. So long as the games are interesting.

By a strange twist of fate I happen to be off work tomorrow and can watch this live.

Hopefully it doesn't suck.

I hope this is something actually awesome.

Expectations low, but how awesome would it be to have a really great product release?

If mortal Kombat 11 is day and date on this service and it's 10 bucks a month, I'll subscribe.

Play the PS4 version at home, do training mode on my way to work on my phone and at my laptop at work.

No faith in the switch version, plus I'm not trying to buy one, or carry it to work.

Phil's final days at Sony, defending the lack of rumble as a "last gen feature", getting overly excited about motion controls, and sadly forcing them on Factor 5 and Lair and bringing their studio to a close.

That was just him defending the path Sony went on. He ultimately left Sony because they refused to take the path that he felt was best for them. He wanted them to go more toward a Wii route with the PS3 in terms of more casual content. You have to remember that he was big on Eyetoy and Singstar. He's big on experimental stuff.

I'm expecting Half Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3 from Valve. I also expect Google to help revive LucasArts and give me a true Monkey Island sequel along with Maniac Mansion 3 and Full Throttle 2. They will also revive that Uncharted Star Wars game because that looked sweet. Finally, they'll give me FFXVI and GTAVI.

This is a Project Stream screenshot @ 4k. Not overly excited about our streaming future to be honest.

Yeah this looks like butt. I think MS got the right Idea, streaming games can only be complementary for now. It will be great as a complementary feature, but as the only way to play I'm out.

The countdown is now, soon we might either see the biggest thing to happen to gaming in a long time or something that will fade away as soon as it arrived. I hope for some exciting exclusives and a lot of meltdowns around here lol we will see..

I'm not sure I've ever seen so many people on Era so against a product before anything has even been revealed. I'm pretty sure the vitriol will only get worse once this thing is shown regardless of what it is.

Seems like the only thing that gets in the way of traditional video game tribalism is the suggestion of a new potential tribe.

I really do see Google using a fully-featured free online as a major advantage. If the service is popular and actually hurts both Microsoft and Sony sales, do you see both companies dropping their online fee?
If so, I could see Microsoft surprisingly doing it and relying on Gamepass and xcloud subscription since Google is a big potential threat. Not so sure regarding Sony.

However this turns out, we haven't had anyone make a serious attempt at jumping into the gaming industry in a long time. This is exciting.

Yeah im still hopeful that Google's not dumb enough to hype this event with only a streaming service. We're really just not there yet.

Yeah my thoughts too would they really hype up and market this streaming technology when it wont even be viable in most parts of the world yet? Unless they've had a major breakthrough I just don't see it.

Geez my old ass is so far out of the gaming loop that I somehow didn't hear about any of this until today and read about it in Forbes of all places. LMAO.

I am truly an old. I'm interested in what Google brings to the table tho. There hasn't been a new company to make a serious run into the industry for quite some time.

And Sony was correct to refuse that path. They are not at their best when they're following Nintendo

Imagine; Phantasy Star Online 2 western release exclusive to Google

Welp, they won me if so.

Anyway, I'm actually very excited for this. I tried Project Stream and it was surprisingly good. If it has some good exclusives, I'm totally in! I'll keep expectations low, but I think we've been stagnating in the industry. The Switch was a good shakeup, but I think it's about time for something even bigger that'll push everything forward.

Germany...
What frightens me about a possible streaming device is the possibility of them offering different plans. If game streaming is the future, they will come up with plans like these:
1080p30fps
1080p60fps
4k30fps
4k60fps
To be honest, I don't want these kind of plans...in approx. 12 hours we will now more.

Honestly intrigued. Will watch.

Although I'll probably won't buy unless by some miracle a Skies of Arcadia Legends port/ HD remaster is announced.

I'll give it to google, the idea of the controller having its own wifi to be the input device separate from the display is genius.

So it's finally next gen time. Let's see what happens. Google gets to fire the first round in a new war. How will Microsoft and Sony respond? Times are getting interesting.

Will it run solely as a TV app?

Will I need to buy h/ware and/or accessories?

I'm not interested in anything that requires an investment outside the subscription and maybe a controller.

Dreamcast tagline reference?! We're getting a Dreamcast 2 y'all.
Yyeeeaaaah, one IP is not going to cut it.

Like, I keep saying that Sega and Capcom need to get those Dreamcast games on Switch to revitalize those multiplayer days but...if Google can make that library online compatible, dedicated servers, mods, the whole god damn enchilada on PC or whatever machine they're selling, I can be contempt with that.

Now if they got some physical peripherals to take advantage of local MP...well, I suppose we might have ourselves the Dreamachine.

Funny that we get this GDC conference approaching and Nintendo rumours of a phone again. Curious to see how Google approaches rhis venture either DOA or a small success, to be abandoned later.

I just think it's hilarious that Google could potentially follow exactly what Microsoft did to get the Xbox to catch on and get a huge cut of the video game industry pie. Use. Sega. For. Success.

Yes, thanks to Sega and their Xbox offerings like Jet Set, Panzer Dragoon, Crazy Taxi ect. Microsoft was deemed the successor to the Dreamcast and I was forced to purchased the original Xbox. Just like everyone else ever. If it weren't for Sega nobody would have been interested in Microsofts attempt at video games. Nobody. This is known.

Now Google has summoned the powers at Sega to repeat this full proof method. Once Sega blesses their service with Phantasy Star , Chu Chu Rocket and Ecco the Dolphin, we will be forced yet again to buy in. It's genius. Dreamcast forever.
