Ya'll need to stop hating on TLK. It's one of the most unintentionally funny big budget movies of the decade.

King Arthur, Merlin, medieval explosions, Harriet Tubman, Nazis, robot butlers, nonsensical plot twists, Marky Mark wielding a sword.

It's got it all!

Is this gonna be the next Pacific Rim where people dislike it for reveling in the logic of its cartoonish shlock or is it actually not good

TLK is so bad it almost looped right back around to being good. Almost.

Its like people complaining about the plot on pornhub
I mean when it's 80% of the movie it's a problem (see Bayformers) and when the action is a blurry mess that is incomprehensible and trapped behind a gradient filter that makes it super dark and full of shit flying everywhere (see also Bayformers) then it's kinda warranted.

No, apparently it's gonna be the next Pacific Rim Uprising.

I legit feel like I was the only person that watched it from early screening and wasn't hyperbole on it.

Didn't think it was very good but surprised at the reviews considering 14' and Skull Island were pretty crappy and reviewed well. This is at least better.

It's a pretty stupid movie though, with a lot of it seeming easily avoidable.

I got my $14 worth just from hysterically laughing to the point of tears watching Anthony Hopkins, academy award winning actor, running from a bunch of incomprehensible CGI doing the fucking old man shuffle and having to have clearly CGI'd parkour scenes. It was beautiful.

Everything else is just dumb nonsense.

I dunno, Godzilla 2014 and Skull Island both managed to be worse.

I can't vibe with this opinion at all and I don't even really like those two films that much. Everything after the first Transformers which was largely decent has been absolutley terrible. Bay one upped himself in how shit they were with every sequel.

I like how the movie implies that the autobots were involved with freeing the slaves. It's like the writers threw in nonsensical and absurd shit just to see what they could get away with, and it all ended up in the movie. Truly amazing.

This and some of the other reviews read as though people saw two entirely different films. Like is the action an incomprehensible mess or is it as this review states, "...drama on a scale never before seen, with the action rendered in the most vivid and awesome detail possible. There isn't a single frame of monster fighting that doesn't look ready for a poster print."

Strange, I hope this is the review on point.

That's a throwaway line, there's so much other hilarious shit in those films that people are sleeping on.

If there's monsters actually fighting and atomic breath all over the place, the RT score means nothing.

I just want to see fun, high production Monster Fights. It would be nice to see an interesting plot and good performances out of the human cast but Godzilla films rarely have those. I will be there Thursday night and next year for Godzilla v Kong.

A balls to the wall giant monster movie was never going to review well with mainstream critics. I'm just hoping for the sake of the movie's box office that it doesn't score too low.

From the trailers alone I know it's already better than Godzilla 2014.

As someone that loves expensive CGI kaiju, I want this movie to surprise at the box office, but at this point, I've settled on this one underperforming, Kong being the last one we get, and the inevitable reboot in 10 years. I mean, shit, that's more than I expected, so.

the biggest thing with any Godzilla movie is no one gives a fuck about the humans

but we also don't want to see the monsters talk, never forget....

honestly they should have gone full camp and had aliens bring ghidras to earth

The script has seemed like garbage since the first trailer, but the action and cinematography seem good enough to get me to give it a shot.

I didn't need the critics to like it, Kong Skull Island was way better than it had any right to be and I wouldn't even call it "good", but very entertaining.

All they had to do to sell me on this movie is have Mothra, King Ghidorah, and Rodan, something I never expected to see in an American Godzilla film, and that was enough for me to.

Yeah... put me down as another one that loved the 2014 movie, so I don't think reviews for this kind of movie really mean much to me.
