Storyline seems very deep, might be the first game I buy on PS5.
I dont know much about the game, but i like games with deep lore. So if the story is good, it is +, i like the combat.
IF I get to purchase a Ps5 in 2020, DeS and godfall, maybe Dirt 5, will be my games of choice. The Series S I have secured will feed me with GP filler!
So when Cerny designed Knack, it seems obvious that he started with the idea that PS4 could push all these polygon that PS3 couldn't and wanted to design a character that exploited all those polygons. So he created a character that was literally just a collection of a bunch of polygons.
I feel like Godfall is the same way. The design of the characters and their armor is *so fucking busy* that it seemed like they started with the idea that they were going to design a next-gen showcase, and decided that the way to do that was to just overload their character design in a way that last-gen couldn't have rendered.

Decent cinematic. I'll be more interested in this if it has a decent story throughout the game. I'm waiting for reviews first though.
I am actually interested in this game now, I enjoyed that trailer. The current gameplay trailers have been positive for me as well.

One of the armors in that vid from 2 months ago reminds me of Warhammer Fantasy's High Elves.
Final boss will be honeybadger-mask-guy.
I like what I've seen of the game so far, looks like a nextgen Darksiders 2.

Has there been anything else besides the combat? How is loot even handled? What can you equip? How is the story and missions structured? Skill tree? The only thing they've shown now are some CGI cutscenes and numerous combat videos. I just want to see something else.
That 2 month old video talk a lot about what you are asking. There is a skill grid, there are different weapon types like warhammer, polearm, greatsword weapon Types. Check out the videos they have dev interviews.
Looks really cool. I'm really looking forward to getting my Series X on launch-day, but I'm sad to be missing out on this. Hopefully it doesn't stay a PS5 exclusive.
Well it's on PC and Sony doesn't seem to have anything to do with its development so I highly doubt it. Same with Kena.
The armors look great but none of the gameplay videos have really drawn me in. Ill probably get it but a few days after launch to see more in depth reviews.
That was a great story trailer. Recent gameplay trailers have been somewhat intriguing, but not "buy me now!" level. Combat looks pretty good, but we knew nothing of the story until this trailer......Still going to wait for reviews, but I'm now more interested
just watched this & a 15 minute gameplay video on youtube, &, yeah, i'm finding the environments really off-putting, cold, & characterless, like the kind of 'advanced civilization' type environments that always used to show up in those early cgi videos from back when. sterile...
This game screams wait and see. It might turn out to be good but I'm not confident from what I've seen.
I finally watched gameplay of this the other day that actually looked like someone who know wtf they were doing was holding the controller. renewed my interest for sure. Doesn't look nearly as plodding or slow in the combat as the initial gameplay reveal stuff did.

They've talked about most of this (they still haven't explained story and mission structure though). The problem is that they've literally only ever talked about it and have yet to show practically any of it in a video. This is literally the first trailer or footage they've shown since reveal that wasn't single player combat with no UI.
What I gathered from this is to never kick someone into water when your sword is right there ready to impale them instead.
I'm just shaking my head at anyone saying the story looks "deep" or that this trailer was even good. What did it explain? It introduced nothing, it explained nothing, it gave me one name, didn't state who the narrator was, what either of their positions were, any of the reasons I should be caring about whatever's going on, there's no set up of any kind. And that's the intro? It's just a bunch of nonsense and it carried all the weight of an NES game intro.
Man, I really dislike this faceless characters under helmet thing. When the narration start talking about Makros and show 2 Knight, I didn't even know which one is Makros and only know which halfway through the trailer.
Do the dev even have a face model under that helmet? Also, a bit surprised about the setup which is basically battle between 2 faction. With the title, I thought it was more human vs god type of story.
The scenario here seems more suited for pvp type game, but I thought the game don't even have any competitive pvp mode, just pure co-op pve type game

Anyone know if we play as character creation under this Lion guy, or do we play as Lion guy in the trailer?
I'm not sure about actual character creation, but as far as I understand it you'll be changing armors throughout the game with each having different abilities and that lion headed one is only one of them.
Purely coincidental that the 5 main weapons in Godfall are sword, dual blades, greatsword, spear and warhammer, just like in Garo
