I believed we are in the time period where remakes and remasters are welcomed. I think it make sense to revive some old IPs for new generations to enjoy.

Childish Gambino exclusive game vocal soundtracks would be even better.
Whenever you went to someone's house, you knew their gaming line up was a wash if it includes Glover.

That tweet alone confirmed it's not a sequel, since there is a "1" in it.
If you mean "announcement", I'm not aware of any at the moment.

A sequel was in development back when the first game came out, but it got canned midway through development.
The prototype leaked online at one point, but i've definitely heard that Piko wants to finish the game eventually. They previously did something similar with the unreleased "Tyrannosaurus Tex". As well as the N64 port of 40 Winks.

Afaik, that was someone that claimed to have the license but they actually didn't.
