I hadn't heard this particular track before, but Discogs tells me this came out in 03, which would put it well after 138 Trek and Oris Jay / Darqwan's earlier stuff, right? I'm not too familiar with exactly how breaks and garage crossed over though.
I know it looks absolutely ridiculous, but Donny Benet makes some of the best funk bass tracks out there today.
I'm familiar with him through synthwave circles, but never actually listened to his stuff. Gold!
