Work
Shit, I'm gonna make a bold assumption and say this project is cancelled or is going to be completely reworked to not be a battle royale.

Christ. Can nobody make a fucking game anymore!!!

Ok so a little hyperbolic but after seeing vanguard, a glitchy as fuck bf2042 that doesn't even play like Battlefield and this too...maybe Halo is the answer after all...

Well I don't know what they can do with it now that it's been designed to be a BR.

Wait...that doesn't say indefinitely. Gaming community needs to learn to use that word better.

Their wordage is correct. Indefinitely doesn't just mean: "Forever", it also means: "For an unspecified amount of time", and in this regards they gave no date so it's been delayed for an unspecified amount of time.

Just like people turning "literally" to mean metaphorically, gamers are turning indefinitely into cancelled is my point.

One day, Ubi will stop chasing trends and do what it used to be good at : Splinter Cell.

I miss the days when a new Ubisoft Tom Clancy game was something I would automatically look forward to.

Hah.

Edit: It looks more like a marketing decision because their closed test was not getting enough interest. So they will just do it later.

Wow - that has to suck for the Dev's who worked on it.

If I remember correctly, the reveal video said they had been busy working on it for 3+ years.

I would say the social media backlash was a major factor on this decision.

They should've let people at least try the game. If I was an investor my confidence in Ubisoft would be hitting the floor in reaction to this move.

EDIT: never mind, the title of the OP overemphasized the nature of the delay. This is fine.

It's not just gamers in this case, I feel. It's a super-duper misunderstood word in all sectors of entertainment. I see people use it with "cancelled" in an interchangeable fashion alllll the time with TV and film stuff. :x
