No, but then again, you can't buy a legendary weapon with desired perks either.
How bad, oh it's so bad. Imagine how much work was put into this, they could make a better game instead of that soulless trash.
It is coop at least. I completely ignored this stuff in Wildlands and it didn't touch my experience. (Not saying it's right though.)

It's just to save time guys. They don't actually want you to buy any of this shit. My bestest friend Ubisoft is just trying to do you a solid. There's absolutely no incentive for them to make the game more grindy to encourage people to cough up cash. You can just unlock everything in game if you play for 7 hours a day! Except the stuff you can't. But that's just cosmetic. Letting you buy skill points, XP boosters, weapons, attachments and vehicles is actually cutting edge game design.
If we're really lucky they'll release a $800 version that comes with everything unlocked and the game already completed. Install it, boot it up, see a game over 100% completed screen, then delete it. Ultimate convenience. It'll save you so much time that you'll be able to play some actual good games.

It doesn't really bother me either. Loved Odyssey last year and so far I'm enjoying Breakpoint.
