Yeah hes done some truly fantastic work over the years. He didn't get the spot he has now through luck. But as you say hes more known for the dorito/mtn dew memes regularly.I think people forget that keighly on top of being a meme, is also one of the best games journalists out there when he wants to be
To be fair there's no reason they might not be working on HL3 too. It might be VR, it might not. But theres now a better likelihood of it happening than there has been for a long timeDo they realize the precedence they're gonna set now? Everyone will expect a new half life. Fuck. And I don't wanna start hoping again.
The biggest Battle Pass they have ever done, attempting to fix matchmaking and The Outlanders Update coming next week isn't enough?
Thats what he calls all of his documentaries.Final Hours makes it sound like they're gone, or are closing down, lol.
Ooh, it's a series. Final hours of development then, ok. I had never heard of these before.
Holy shit, this isn't a one off. He has more of them in the works

I don't, but that's a choice given the company success, contrary to say, a small indie studio with limited success. The biggest Battle Pass they have ever done, attempting to fix matchmaking and The Outlanders Update coming next week isn't enough?
I think people forget how small Valve is.
never knew he is a writer, always kinda assumed he is just a "host"
DONT YOU FUCKING PLAY WITH ME
They said if people like this then they'd have enough confidence to do more half life stuffDo they realize the precedence they're gonna set now? Everyone will expect a new half life. Fuck. And I don't wanna start hoping again.
They said they will.
It's a choice they've made given the nature of the companies structure. Valve could have been like other game companies that have had such a successful game and hired hundreds of people to work on nothing but DOTA 2 content but then they wouldn't be the company they are, and it wouldn't be the game that it is.I don't, but that's a choice given the company success, contrary to say, a small indie studio with limited success.
And 2 hero between each TI ( with some depressing years on the seasonnal event side ) isn't enough for me, just like it somehow wasn't for Valve 2 years ago
with no improvement in sight since.
And I do love some matchmaking update, but the idea that a company like Valve, for a game like dota 2, would have to make a choice between having someone work on the matchmaking, or someone else on content, is ming boggling crazy. I would wagger that most games in other companies with a success even remotely close to dota 2 would get a dedicated team far bigger than what likely dota 2 had for the past 3-4 years now. Something we could probably comfirm if we could make the comparison with Psyonix, Riot Games heck maybe even Respawn Entertainment.
I really hope Geoff addresses Laidlaw's treatment for EP3 and its publication. I'm sure that must've stung for anyone working at Valve, especially the folks who were attached to Half-Life.Laidlaw's Epistle 3 basically implied Valve completely lost its way at one point. This will be super interesting if Geoff really goes deep.
The Final Hours is something Geoff did for Half Life 2, Portal 2, and tons of other games. It is suppose to come out later next year after Half Life: Alyx is out. It's going to be more videos, articles about all the things and problems at Valve in the past decade. It's not just the one video we got today.
Left for Dead 3 confirmed.
