Japan doesn't do april fools as much as other parts of the world. It's a serious business day for them. That's always been the case for them because their fiscal year is on a different cadence from other countries.

Yeah as an April Fools joke.
Worth noting April 1 is the year of the new fiscal year in Japan. You get lots of serious announcements (like Yoshida mentioning that his division is working on a next-gen game for a while already at SE last year, etc).
Wonderful 101 whet people's appetite for boring ports and sequels even though everything they've said in interviews about title #4 being a revolutionary new game where Platinum will fully own the IP sure makes it sound like a brand new thingisn't this supposed to be a

Well, the dream is the Matsuno game is brought back as a console title, but iirc both that and World of Demons were both with outside partners (CyGames and ... Marvellous?).I'm still hoping they bring World of Demons back as a full console ARPG. Next best thing to Okami 2.
We've kinda been dealing with this for weeks now. Considering there's no idea when this'll end and these games have to come out at some time I don't think it's that surprising.I thought it was obvious what I was referring to...
I was talking about the actual real world pandemic that has dominated every news outlet in every corner of the world. It's a hell of a thing for a company to be making an announcement now.

All the Platinum 4 stuff has be planned since at least early February when W101 went up (and likely months ahead of that since we know the Kickstarter was delayed) so it makes sense that everything would already be in place and it wouldn't be affected by corona
The freaking Nier remaster was just announced.
Now this is itClearly Platinum are waiting for Nintendo to announce the Viewtiful Joe spirit event in Smash before announcing Viewtiful Joe 3.

All companies will make announcements during this. The world still goes on and businesses will still have to make their money. It's crazier to think companies will halt all their plans until this is over.I thought it was obvious what I was referring to...
