Yeah it makes no sense then. New Bern is near the coast and I have never heard of a Newburn in the mountains and I lived there for a few years.

It's also too on the nose that the outdoorsy guy wanted for murder would be hiding in the mountains. I dunno sounds like a false lead.

But you know what is in the mountains. Little Switzerland.. and why is it called New Bern? Because it was founded by Swiss immigrants. Got to follow the clues.

Hey guys, is a drunk patron at a bar called Idle Hour a credible source? If so, Brian has already joined the Taliban and lives in Kandahar with his four children.

But seriously, why are people posting random shit from YouTube and Twitter like it's even worth wasting a fucking breath on? Super bizarre. This is conspiracy theory level shit and you just fall for it and repost it. While we're at it, most of the pictures are not of him either. Do you know how many white guys in their 20s look exactly like him? This is the US we're talking about.

The Appalachian trail areas would be a decent spot to hide and survive in. Dude could find many resources throughout it,food water and shelter. Looting from hikers campers ect all up and down that trail operating at night. Hope they catch his garbage tier ass soon.

If this Dog dude does find this guy, what's he gonna do? Perform a citizen's arrest?

The FBI are at the Laundrie house and went inside, no idea why.

According to their lawyer…

"Steven Bertolino, the Laundrie family's attorney, tells Fox News' Michael Ruiz that "the FBI is at the Laundrie home today to collect some personal items belonging to Brian that will assist the canines in their search for Brian.

"There is nothing more to this," he added."

My family is all from Western NC, and the only New Bern I know is towards the coast. That said the terrain surrounding New Bern might be closer to what he is use to in FL. Flat, swamps, and tons of trees. I could be wrong, but I don't buy the AT talk (there are tons of areas better to hide in WNC like Linville Gorge). Too much foot traffic. I agree with you the mountains angle false. Also the weather in the mountains is going to be changing over the next few weeks with fall coming.

I mean he killed her, we know what he's capable of. Nevermind the 911 caller said he saw HIM abuse HER. Just seems weird that they release this video now of her indicating abuse, and not before. She sounds terrified of him and seems desperate to take the blame for the abuse.

I really feel like the police failed her then and have failed her even after her death with their incompetence.

Definitely sad to see that video. You can tell she was scared to talk about him being physical.

Yeah this was an absolute failure on the police. At this point I would believe she never actually got physical with him all, she is terrified of him taking the blame. If they had done more than "lol crazy bitches eh bro?" She'd be alive.

The sad thing is the female park officer was watching all this and then conducted her own interview with her in which she encouraged Gabby to leave Brian. I wonder why they haven't released that video.

Feel so bad for her, she looks so scared and hesitant to admit he was abusing her.

Its fucking infuriating seeing those damn cops being all buddy-buddy and shooting the shit with Brian knowing what it will all lead to.

Not sure how I feel about the coverage about this case anymore. All of this feels like trauma porn, and I'm starting to get really uncomfortable with it. Maybe it's because I lived a similar situation of abuse.

It's weird to see so many people revelling and almost fantasizing about her "last moments", and the way people on TikTok just want to take a niblet of it to just increase their followings. It makes me sick.

I'm comforted by people who are at least trying to educate and raise awareness about the issue of abuse. I have taken a big step back on the news attached to this case for this reason. It's fucking triggering.

It's nothing new. Happens every single time and on every single platform with a case like this. People just love sleuthing and can't help themselves but to get weirdly attached.

The original full length video released of the stop had her telling them he grabbed her by the face and it was clear from it that the relationship was abusive. It's absolutely a failure by those officers speaking in the footage to recognise it.

Oof. :( yeah with the situation that was described in the 911 call itself along with the substance of these police cam interviews, the police assumptions at the scene were just completely, completely off-base here and failed Gabby horrendously in this situation.

The sad fact is that the more attention it gets the more likely he is to be caught. The FBI has only so much time and resources to dedicate to this. The main way he'll get caught is someone recognizing him when he does come out from hiding (provided he didn't kill himself). If it involved my daughter I would hate it a lot more if it were in the news for 1 day and then forgotten the next.

Yep, the whole internet detective scene is gross. Not here specifically but there are hundreds of YouTube channels who are profiting off this.

I generally feel this way about the True Crime sub-culture in general, and it's even more prominent now in the social media era.

I still don't understand the campground stuff.

What do people suspect they were doing?
The most simple explanation is that they knew Brian was going away for a long time (one way or the other) and they just wanted a final family trip.

Could also have served as a way to stash supplies for Brian to help him survive in the wild.

I still don't understand what the ultimate endgoal would be for him here. He can't survive in the wild forever. He's gonna have to come out at some point. Does he think if he stays hidden long enough the authorities will just magically forget about him? It makes no sense. I keep thinking this whole reserve stuff was just a diversion to distract the authorities long enough to buy him enough time to flee out of the country. And it's working.

just turn yourself in, bro. i really don't get the long game he's playing.

must not be fun--not that I'm sympathetic.

living the wild, alone, sounds godawful.

Going to prison is going to be even worse than living in the wild. I can understand why he's out there hiding, assuming he's not dead.

Kind of amazing how fast news on this case fell off a cliff. Americans really do have the attention span of a goldfish.
True, At the same time there's nothing to talk about right now. Until there's a break in the case it would just be rehashing the same facts over and over again for the 24 hour news cycle as they did up until they ran out of the ability to do that.
