I'm hoping Paul Rudd uses this movie as another opportunity to show the same damn clip from "Mac and Me" for Conan. Besides that, I am pumped for this movie!

I'm looking forward to the trailer. I'm optimistic about it! At the very least, the cast is great.

"Fortunately, they have a summer school teacher named Mr. Grooberson (played by Paul Rudd) who was a kid when the Manhattan Crossrip occurred. Although later generations may think of it as a myth, or not think of it at all, he remembers it obsessively and is excited to pass on what he knows."

Please please P L E A S E let Paul Rudd wear a Proton Pack and become a Ghostbusters fucking DO IT

Did Ivan Reitman get a producer credit for Ghostbusters 2016?

Edit: Yes, so Ivan Reitman producing means nothing. Cautiously optimistic, though.

These screens looks really great. Lot of mood and storytelling in them, should heighten the comedy of it

Visually, those shots look cool, but I dunno if I like the direction it's going. Either way, I'm looking forward to the trailer.

The cinematography looks top notch! Cannot be worse than Ghosbusters 2016, can it?

Expect lots of hot takes about the 2016 film over the next six months.

I hate that Paul Rudd this and has ticked my meter over from "not interested" to "redbox."

I fucking love the allusion to the dad/grandfather. If it's who it obviously is, that's great way to do it.

That plot summary reminds me of TFA with Ghostbusters substituted for Jedi. I remember there being similar skepticism expressed by some characters in Ghostbusters 2 regarding the events in Ghostbusters 1.

Paul Rudd got me interested in this. I wish there was a way we could erase the fact that the 2016 movie happened and get Wiig into this with Rudd.

Yeah the humans in the Ghostbusters world are fucking stupid when it comes to shit like this lmao. GBII takes place only 4 years after a giant fucking portal opened above New York and a skyscraper-sized Marshmallow Man attacked the city, but people act like it never happened and call the guys frauds. Goldfish!! So you could also say TFA is Ghostbusters II but with Jedi instead of ghosts.

It's a horror/comedy, like the other three.

Give it time. If this is successful and they're able to revitalize the franchise with more movies like they always should have, they could do a crossover. They did it in the comics, and the comics are fucking great, there are a ton of really excellent stories in them that could be adapted into movies perfectly. The story about someone trapping Death, for example, and the rival team of Ghostbusters stealing the Proton Pack plans but changing it to "explode" ghosts instead of catching them would be SO GOOD as movies.

So who's the grandfather supposed to be? All the articles talking about this seem to imply the looks of the new characters make it obvious but I'm not the biggest GB nut so I have zero clue.

The way men online treated the Ghostbusters 2016 movie completely ruined my interest in future films. It was vitriolic in the least. Yeah, it's not a good movie but all the misogyny was way over the top. I loved the Holtzmann character and I'm sad we may never see her again.

Probably Egon or Ray, if it's one of the OG characters. IIRC Ray's family owned a farm so it could be why the Ecto-1 is stashed there.

I'm sort of burned out on the torch passing trope but I'm sure this will be safe fun.
