Former Olympic gold medalist Klete Keller reportedly captured on video inside Capitol during riots (abc15.com)

Former Olympic gold medal swimmer Klete Keller was reportedly captured on video as part of the Trump supporters who stormed inside the U.S. Capitol during last week's deadly riots in Washington D.C.

In a video posted by Townhall reporter Julio Rosas, which was first reported by SwimSwam and The New York Times, Keller allegedly appears in the video as the tall, bearded man wearing a Team USA jacket inside the U.S. Capitol Rotunda.

According to SwimSwam, Keller, who won swimming medals in three Summer Games, was identified by former teammates and coaches as a member of the angry mob that surged at the U.S. Capitol.

Add another to the list. :(

In 2018, Keller revealed that, after a 2014 divorce, he had become homeless and was living out of his car for roughly ten months.[SUP][4][/SUP][SUP][5][/SUP] He said that he had been jobless and owed child support to his ex-wife for their three children.[SUP][4][/SUP] He also said that, for four years, he lacked visitation rights with his children.[SUP][5][/SUP] In an interview he conducted in the spring of 2014, he stated that he was no longer certain of the whereabouts of three of his Olympic medals.[SUP][6][/SUP] In the same 2014 interview, Keller also said that he had failed to find similar successes in his endeavors after retiring from swimming. He said that he made the mistake of not having the foresight to plan for his post-swimming career, and felt somewhat "bitter" both towards himself and his sport.[SUP][6[/SUP]
This doesn't excuse anything but this shit makes me think it's just been a long slide for this guy

He specialized in the freestyle, but in his inevitable statement I bet he'll be doing the backstroke.

Was everyone trying to make identification as easy as possible?

I've heard too many stories about people giving their whole lives to meeting some great success, only to fuck everything up afterwards.

It's like, even the people you date during that time become familiar with that version of you. Make their lives about helping you succeed.

Then when you've done it, and there's nothing else to do? You just crash.

No joke, whatever some seedy alt-right group told him must've been music to his ears if it could explain and contextualize a string of bad luck like that
That's what they do. They find people who have hit the bottom or are frustrated and self-important, and support their aggression towards the groups that they deem responsible for all of their problems while offering them a place in their echo chamber of like-minded crazies to use that as validation to proof them against anyone else.

Wouldn't matter even if they had tried to avoid identification. The feds are "geo fencing" the area so anyone who brought a cell phone in the vicinity that day can expect a visit.

I know, but like...

A work badge? Your Olympic jacket?

It's impressively stupid. Not a single person was wearing normal-ass clothes that day?

This is not that uncommon for many athletes post career, many hit rock bottom - homelessness, addiction etc. IMO, Trump/MAGA is a cult and probably has appeal to people who feel wronged by life. if this guy had instead channeled his energy into something positive or productive he could of pulled himself out of his hole. IMO, people like Sean Hannity, Limbaugh have a lot of blood on their hands. Also, just read here in GA one of the rioters got arrested, posted bail then went home and killed himself. Trump's legacy will be one of misery, death and wasted lives.
