Beat it blind like every first playthrough of Fromsoft games, but never bothered to replay it and beat the bosses & endings I missed. Maybe one day (or not).

I think there should be a "No, but I'm still playing" option

In any case, I got the game for my birthday, played in front of my friends, got laughed at (in all good fun, they tell me they sucked at those parts too) because I died, stopped playing because of my work and recently came back for a bit. Steamed for my friends to watch and laugh at my pain (they suffered as well) in dying so many times to Lady Butterfly.

Still plan on finishing the game.

Stopped playing after ~30 hours. Was too hard for me.

For reference... I finished all Souls Games and Bloodborne without much troubles.

Yes. I did not enjoy 50%+ of my time with it. Saw everything there was to see relatively quickly, and then it just became a rhythm game that I wasn't really interested in. Forced myself to finish it.

I'm playing it right now, it's fucking awesome. I got stuck on the second miniboss for the longest time after buying it at launch though.

I'm not very far into it.

It's not "too hard" its just my enjoyment to difficulty ratio isn't where I want it to be. Same for all of the Souls-type games. I kind of enjoy them in theory for a short amount of time and then just kind of have their welcome warn out + how many times I have to replay a boss.

I've beaten NG Black so I don't mind hard games, but I find with Ninja Gaiden when I am good at the game I feel like a bad ass ninja warrior that can't be stopped. With Sekiro I feel like I am a weak ninja-dog who is lucky not to die at encounters.
Once you get better at parrying it's a lot more empowering, I've found. I had to completely untrain myself from the habit of trying to dodge away from everything.

Nope.

I didn't get passed Lady Butterfly.

I didn't have the patience to farm spirits currency for my tools every time I wanted to retry her, Blood Borne already maximized my patience with the blood vials.

I also had some issues with how weightless the character felt and enemy aggression cones was the entire field.

Yep, four times even. During my second run the game REALLY clicked with me and I felt like I mastered the combat. Beating the bosses and minibosses easily after struggling so much with them in my first run was immensely satisfying. Right after my second playtrough I did my third and fourth. Fantastic game.

Beat it and it was great. I really felt myself get better and better after each attempt at a boss. I would start by barely getting a hit in without dying then by the end I wasn't getting hit at all. Lady Butterfly, Genichiro, and the Owl fights are top notch. My hint for this and other similar games would be not to try to find a cheap way around things. Just knuckle down and keep trying.

I was really burnt out by the time I reached the final boss and just dropped it.

I forced myself through a big chunk of the late game content having zero fun with it anymore honestly so I just said fuck it despite my inner From fanboy being in denial.

Is she your first boss? If so, you can just go back to Ashina Outskirts and make more progress there before trying her again. Killing bosses give you Memories, which can be used to increase your attack power, and you also get to increase your vitality and posture by killing more minibosses.

You don't have to fight her early, even though most people do. She's a really really really hard first boss, and I died more to her than in my entire playthrough of Bloodborne. Then my second boss was a joke, and it was clear that he should be my first.

Finished it and currently it's in the race to be my GOTY. I'll just repeat what I said in previous Sekiro threads, it's the easiest "overwolrd" FROM game but the hardest "boss encounters".

Loved this game & earned the Platinum. Took about a month & a half. In fact this was going to be my GOTY until Death Stranding invaded my brain.

Edit: I want to add that I also loved & Platinumed Bloodborne but never quite clicked with Dark Souls.

Nah, but I would like to try and give it another go. Nothing to do with difficulty - the atmosphere of the game just felt boring and uninspired to me. I can appreciate those who loved the more "realistic" approach but it was a hard transition going from Dark Souls/Bloodborne to this.

Played it like nuts when it released, but the 4-phase final boss was the killer for me.. It was too much.

Nope.
First FS game for me that I dropped. I really didn't like anything about that game other than the aesthetic the longer I thought about it. Got to the Heaven Village or whatever and was just over it.

Yeah same except I didn't stick with it. I had better things to do with my time like research what kind of kitchen sponges won't smell like burnt rubber after a week of use. By far From Softwares weakest game to date and I'm counting pretty much their whole catalog

I dropped it pretty close to the end because i was bored to death and i couldnt keep going. Its the first time since Demons Souls i dont finish a From Soft game. I deeply enjoyed the first hours then it becomes like a rhythm game.

Technically no, but I'm literally at the final boss. I did everything I could do up until that point; defeated every boss including
Owl (Father) and Demon of Hatred.
But after defeating those I was kinda done with the game and never properly tried the final boss and I kinda dropped it at that point. The first FROM souls-like game I didn't finish (counting from Demon's Souls). Brilliant game though.

I finished it, but only because I'm stubborn. It didn't resonate with me as much as other From Software games. I think it's the weakest game I've played from them. Even Ninja Blade was more fun.

This is the only From Software game I felt compelled to complete multiple times.

The combat and design is just on another level compared to Dark Souls/ Bloodborne.

The same happened to me with Bloodborne. Dropped it for a year after wasting a week in the initial area, came back a year later and beat it in an amazing month. What a game!

I kind of got bored around
the ape boss thing
It just didn't capture me like the Soulsborne games. Environment and storytelling was too monotone. Kinda didn't feel compelled to push on given the difficulty.

Nope, didn't get very far. It's pretty much tradition for me at this point to see play it a Fromsoft game a lot at first, hit some wall and take a extended break, and then eventually return. Happened with Dark Souls, and Bloodborne. I started a new playthrough a couple weeks ago, but that flame hog is just a bad miniboss so that kind of stalled it, then Death Stranding and Fallen Order came out so those took priority.

I sure did, and I also got the platinum. Some of the last bosses tok me dozens of tries. I was adamant in not going online to look up strategies, but I must admit that I used some tips for few of the optional ones like demon of hatred. It was still an incredible though fight. Very good and satisfying game to beat, and probably the most challenging of all the Souls game to platinum because how difficult the bosses was.

Totally, got the platinum as well.

Took me like 5hs to beat the final boss and another 5hs the secret end game boss.

Then I played new game + and new game ++ in easy mode and obliterated every enemy in the game.

Oh, for real? I thought she was a critical path boss. Had no idea about a second route.

I really do like the game but it's the first of it's kind that I haven't played non-stop until the platinum. Well, I haven't gotten the plat in Dark Souls 2 but I have played through it to NG+
