Well we did just steal points from the best team...so technically we are still in it.
I was a huge proponent for VAR for years. Now after having watched Bundesliga for full season and the start of the Premier League, as well as few tournaments...I was fucking wrong. Even if decisions are technically correct now most of the time it has sort of killed the game for me.
Hand ball was correct. Not awarding a penalty for the foul on Rodri however was not.I don't understand the complaints, even under the old rules that's a clear handball.
Like the penalty in the Super Cup, it's not clear enough to overrule; had it gone the other way it wouldn't have been overruled either. Whereas the handball was clear as day.Hand ball was correct. Not awarding a penalty for the foul on Rodri however was not.
we thought the same back when it was implemented in Serie A...by the end of that same season we ended up getting things like Inter-Juve starring Kung Fu PjanicLast season these clowns got away with a lot of shit. Seems like with VAR that won't be the case.
HIGH FIVEI've been thinking the same thing, while at the same time hoping Spurs win or draw.
I understand how many think that VAR kills the "flow" or vibe of the game but i for one are glad that ridiculous shit like the phantom goal Leverkusen vs Hoffenheim (Kiesling) can't happen anymore just because the ref said it was a goal (though hawk-eye tec would have already denied that goal). Like wtf.I was a huge proponent for VAR for years. Now after having watched Bundesliga for full season and the start of the Premier League, as well as few tournaments...I was fucking wrong. I think the issue for most are these big VAR calls happen with the game on the line and it determines the outcome. If this was called just before or after HT, the outcries wouldn't be as severe.
I agree with you. I am saying that time and circumstances contribute to people hating VAR.That's precisely why VAR is needed. You just proved exactly why it's been implemented.
Did the same thing. It was good to come back from a walk to clear my head after a city win and see the final result.Lmao I ragequit when I saw City 3-2 and stropped watching the match. Can't believe the goal was overturned.
yeah, I want goalscorers to be able to celebrate without having that in the back of their mind. it kills those moments imo.I was a huge proponent for VAR for years. This. Never get the hate either.Liverpool should win it (hopefully they do).
Sick of the VAR bashing around here as well other forums, with the dumbest of reasons of why people are against it.
Even under the old rules, the Man City goal would have still been ruled out for handball. The fact is that it happened to quickly that it would be nearly impossible for a human eye to see it clearly and make a proper decision, which is where VAR comes in. This decision in particular is one of the best reasons for VAR to exist. Penalties were awarded for very similar handball incidents in the last world cup. That hand rule is getting changed. Just wait for all the disallowed goals to come and the outrage from it. This isn't a VAR or Man City thing. It's going to happen pretty frequently and with other teams. Incidental contact with the hand is crazy to disallow a goal for. I don't see how you can have that but then sit and review a ball off a defenders hand as a possible penalty. It should then be 100% a penalty if it hits a defenders hand. I don't think that's the way it's working though it it? Doesn't that seem to favor defense in this situation?
I'm not saying VAR is bad or not needed, VAR just went by the rule but the new rule which seems stupid overall. It should fall back on a refs decision after checking it and determining if incidental or not.
Between this and how precise if an arm or head is offsides this is a defenders dream. It's shifting full advantage to defenses.
I personally think he's a racist pig. He always seem to accuse black players of diving while ignoring white players doing the same. Also Burnley is the only team that doesn't have a black player in their first 11.
LOL if you think they won't blame the VAR eventually. All in due time.Managers spent all of last season moaning about referees getting important decisions wrong, now they're annoyed that all the important decisions are correct. Post-match interviews are hilarious this year. Dyche had no idea what to blame his loss on at all now that he couldn't blame a phantom referee bias.
I agree with Gary Neville, City should be annoyed about the penalty appeal at 11 mins, not the overturned goal, and not even Oliver insisting no penalty, He was saying if VAR officials are not willing to send the ref to the side of the pitch to have another look, then overrule his decision
Also why is Klopp changing defence to such a high line this season, usually Arsenal is a 3 points at Anfield, but this high line looks susceptible. I can only presume he is trusting VAR
Yeah. Obvious God of war clone but I like it. Story's good too
The new handball rule is pretty stupid tbh, and VAR is pointless when it's used so inconsistently.
It's not what, pointless or used inconsistently?
