2018 was fine, I can't imagine they made any major changes to 2019's interface on Switch.

Thanks, but it's showing as 33% off @£20.09 for me. Perhaps an additional % off for online subscribers?
Weird, it does actually show for me as £20 but then quickly changes to £17.99

Its in todays PR twice as well as both prices but no mention of a special offer

I wonder if its because I bought FM18

That could make sense as they've done that on Steam before. Thanks for looking though, I'll keep my eyes peeled and keep checking.

You lot are making it very difficult for me to resist 'upgrading' to 2019, especially if there's a discount for owning 2018.

Is it worth it, or should I just stick to 2018?

What price does it show you if you click the above link? Just working out if its an extra discount for those who own FM18

Yeah I just asked Nintendo support and they confirmed an upgrade discount at 40% off. Oh well £20.09 isn't too bad.

Yup, it starts off as £20 but changes to £17.99 after a few seconds. It's definitely an 'upgrade' discount.

Recently got the 19.2 patch which improves some things, doesn't have any of the January transfer window stuff though

FM is lowkey one of the most impressive pieces of entertainment software ever created. Doesn't get as much recognition it deserves.

I yearn to play this but really need to stop buying games! Besides I doubt I can do a better job than Farke's already doing with Norwich!

Is 2018 or 2019 on Switch better for a newcomer? Or should I maybe wait for 2020 if folks are confident on any meaningful upgrades/changes?

2019 is much better for newcomers. You have tactical presets now which were never in the older ones.
Basically now you have sone help setting out the tactics of the team, if you want to play possession football or defensive or whatever.
There are also tutorials which I don't think 2018 had.
