Rian Johnson ruined everything man.

Hyperspace ramming just changed the game and those bombers in the beginning was just dumb.

Leia surviving that explosion without a scratch on her.

Luke hologram.

Snokes guards were fucking useless.

Snoke'a death.

Etc etc

Oh no, you invoked the Last Jedi. I mean I agree with you but the thread won't be pretty. By page 12 it will be the same 5 people writing the same essays back and fourth to each other.

You mean it made everything better. Fantastic movie. Best SW anything since Empire.

I don't plan on ever watching it, but that gif of Rose awkwardly trying to kiss Finn while their friends are possibly exploding in the background nearly ended me.

Definitely low on the list of Star Wars movies I enjoy. It started off entertaining, but as soon as it gets to Rey and Luke, it goes down hill. I don't hate the movie, I'm just disappointed in it.

The fourth best Star Wars film. Only the OT is better than TLJ. People are wild, lol. Not to mention most of the things that Rian used to "ruin" the franchise were George Lucas' original ideas.

Yeah it's really bad, but admitting it makes extremely annoying people big mad. Good luck OP.

Boy do I hate Star Wars "discussions".

I thought it was okay, but in retrospect I've found it and TFA to be extremely forgettable. Never even gonna watch the third one because why bother.

I need to watch TLJ again. I liked everything with Luke, Rey and Kylo, I hated the casino planet sidequest and I kinda hated everything with the fleet chase too. I don't mind him shitcanning some of the plot ideas from TFA (Rey's lineage, Snoke) but then when you go and watch TRoS and you get whiplash because the directors' visions were so mismatched.

I don't know if it's a bad star wars movie, but it's an incredibly boring one for sure.

The plot is weak, the dialog is weak. It leaves a bad taste. I honestly enjoyed TROS more because it crossed that so bad it became funny line. TLJ was just bad.

I wasn't a fan of TLJ at first but after watching TROS it made me really appreciate how bad TLJ could have been and over time I've grown to like it.

I doubt I'll ever watch TROS again but I could sit through TLJ if I had to.

Kudos to the OP, that's certainly a compelling thread title to get people in the door.

Hyperspace ramming was the high point actually for me. It was just a cool as fuck moment. You could hear a pin drop in the theater when it happened.

Man. Theaters. What a time that was.

It's my favorite SW movie by a mile. It's clear we didn't deserve it.
Patrick WIllems made a good video about it.

Average movie that received over the top backlash which lead to over the top praise in response.

Thankfully a cure that makes you forget this shit stain of a movie (+RotS) was produced quickly and it's readily available: it's called The Mandalorian.

I really loved TLJ and was utterly confused when I went online after seeing it and everyone was hating on it. Things had meaning and there was a consistent theme to the stories they were telling, and it was cinematographically and artistically stellar. It had a couple of goofy moments but as a whole I thought it fuckin ruled in many different ways and I actually struggle to understand the aggressive hate it gets. I've tried and I just don't get it.

At the very least, the sheer comedy of the people who say it's somehow worse than ROS, an actually genuinely bad movie that actually is most of the things people accuse TLJ of being, is beyond me.

Look it's my favorite Star Wars anything since Empire, but I am so burnt out on this debate because everything to be said about TLJ has already been stated on both sides of this thing. It's the nerdiest form of insanity I've ever seen because it plays out the exact same way each and every time. And it's been happening for three years now without any kind of break. Worse still, it inevitably pops up in any Star Wars related discussion.

But I also don't want to stifle discussion for people who have just seen it either, regardless of whether they land on it. So I guess I'm just complaining.
