No.
The picture contains/might contain sensitive information regarding the person that provided me with it or their company or their role, I will not risk to share something like that.
I will verify with the mods if they deem it necessary and that's it.
Could you at least tell us what you see of the game and how many minutes the trailer is, without telling us the sensitive data.

its gonna be September 1 year after the original trailer just like i always said.

what was the point of dropping a trailer and then going silent for a year?

FFVIIR had to be added as a side to be a surprise for ps+. We know Final Fantasy 16 is coming, we know the next trailer will be big, so it should be during a bigger event. They'll want to market this one longer than 2 days for a small SoP.
Yeah I think was so obvious they wouldn't show it here, but then again someone made the point that this is Square so you never know.

Still, I reckon the next Sony event will be in a month or 2, so the wait hopefully won't be too bad

No need to ban anyone, but Resetera's "insiders" are reaching meme status like my uncle works at Nintendo. Don't worry sooner or later they will get it right, just wait for the next one.

You people really don't remember how FF7R was showcased do you?

It wasn't guaranteed to be here by any means, but it being at a SoP with Deathloop as a deep dive was never a valid reason not.
Dude that was E3 tho, always expect the unexpected at E3.

Also third parties in general, hence Sega. It wasn't likely, but it also wasn't impossible based on Sony's description.
Indeed but both Sony and SE know how big of a hype machine they have with FF16, tacking on to a mildly hyped up SoP would do that game a diservice, i mean the event only got like 30K views on twitch for example which is nothing for a major PS event because of Sony telling us to keep things in check, trust me when they're ready to announce things, it'll be a big event rather than a small 30 minute SoP.

Sure.
Guy that gets behaded (iirc) in the 2020 trailer on a white armored chocobo.
Bunch of Rosaria soldiers behind him and a duchy's flag behind them.
Daylight.
Same graphical quality as before as far as I can tell.
No indication of the trailer's lenght.

That's pretty much it.

I'm sureiously not expecting anything until December. So much for this being the year of FFXVI's media blowout. I think that's gonna be 2022.

Just do something goofy like adding dunce cap to the avatars of insiders who messed up. Banning is a bit too crazy

Especially since things can change fast regarding promotion

Not disputing whether it'd make sense or be smart to have FF XVI in today's SoP.

But, to be fair, the SoP FF VII Remake was rerevealed at wasn't E3, but a 13 minutes-long one Sony did in May (they had already ditched E3). It was marketed as an event to showcase MediEVIL, a new game (then revealed to be Predator) and updates on announced games (FF VII Remake among others).

There was never any indication FF VII Remake could show up there, only insider hints.

I still think Forspoken will come out before FFXVI and I think both have been delayed

Also, 7R showing up at SoP is a bad example since those were showcase surprises. Everyone already know there's a FF16 so they won't do that

why is it so hard to not hint at shit that is not a near lock?

People shit on 4chan (for good reasons) but that is some 4chan shit man.

Yes. People should not just believe everyone and get their hopes up...but this place is "supposed" to be better than that and the whole idea behind the "supposed" vetting process is there to up hold that. So when bullshit is posted, its a one time thing as that person doesn't get to keep "getting people's hopes up".

This happened w/ E3, it happened with the pro and now here lol. And yet many of the same insiders are still just posting away under the guise of "well things change lol". Which TBF yeah sure...but when you start hinting the day of with eyes emojis , there isn't that much time for things to change lol.

We will see FFXVI in September...

Or not, maybe Square Enix wants to show more of Forspoken because its closer to the release.

Square Enix decides its best to show FFXVI after Forspoken is released, so its best to wait until April of next year

See you all in 2022

Haha, no, it was really close though!

The trailer ended with a "more in June" announcement, obviously pointing at S-E's E3 conference. Come to find out, we got two trailers in June: the concert one and the extended version the next day.

The funny thing is I knew about 16 and who was working on it since Feb 2nd 2020 and never posted about it here, meanwhile people not even knowing when it shows up posting about it showing up is funny.

Fair enough.
I have a new taken-by-phone screen of a new FFXVI trailer (and I know it's new stuff because I watch the original trailer pretty much once a week), which I'm happy to verify with mods on multiple angles.
When I asked the person who provided about a trailer coming today they said yes.
That's it, that's why expected it as well, it was more than tangible proof for me.

I can even try and see with the person who provided me the screenshot what went on but I doubt they knew much else.
Jealous of your screenshot.

To be honest so many people were teasing this one from so many different angles that I'm sure there was very convincing proof. I don't think all false leaks are made with good intentions, and I do think some folks like to lie for clout. This one though reads to me like an honest mistake, where plans changed or false information was leaked purposefully. Lots of good voices were saying the same thing here, we ought to be able to let it slide.

Believe it or not but most people that know a thing or two aren't clout chasers on ERA and act like the thing suddenly disappeared from the show in the last 5 minutes before it went live.

<3 Yeah, ultimately I agree but I understand how tensions can fly. We've all wanted to see more of this game for a while!

Tensions tend to run higher when things are constantly hinted at and nothing pans out.

If FFXVI pops up out of nowhere as a surprise, people posting eye emojis and shit are not what willed it into existence. Expectations keep getting set and shattered, for what? It isn't hard to say nothing and people who are anticipating a game will just get surprised instead.

The culture surrounding this "insider" stuff is so sloppy. People want attention for having connections. That's all this is.

Some of you guys just need to stop thinking about FFXVI or Forspoken for some time. You all did this to yourselves, "insider" hints or not.

The game will be shown eventually. Stop counting the hours. Stop overhyping every event. Stop posting and getting excited about the annoying "eyes" emoji. Stop getting angry at Square or Sony. The game will be shown when it's ready to be shown.

I remember insiders saying that the game was closer to launch than we expected for FFXVI at reveal, and I have to wonder if they just thought we assumed the game would be coming in 2025 or something or if the game got a sizeable internal delay. It's looking like second half 2022 optimistically at this point.

Ngl, I was actually expecting it to appear after seeing today's mood. All despite thinking it'd be a bit silly from a marketing perspective, regardless of Sony having done that before.

So yeah, bummed out. Developing games and marketing is hard and it hasn't even been that long compared to other S-E games, but being the dark since September and having this bait and switch (obviously brought by ourselves) sucks big time.

I was a Spring 2022 believer, but nah.

I don't see this coming out until late 2022 at the very least.

The "lol" everybody quoted was literally just me reacting to the incredulous nature of someone's post but it got eaten up (and I kinda get it but still) soooo yeah, I actually agree with you.

This. I really don't get the people that get mad over stuff not showing up at these.

Maybe they're hung up trying to figure out rhe party system. Partiez are hard.

sigh. I just want to know when 7R 2 and XVI are coming out. I don't even really care about Info outside if that.

We've all wanted to see more of this game for a while!

This isn't about the game not showing up, this is about the insider culture on era being out of control and the vetting process in general being a complete joke. There was no need for any of this, but people have no reason to keep their mouths shut when everything is just forgotten about within minutes of them being proven wrong. Why should people not claim to be insiders with info hours before a show when there's no consequence for being wrong?

Really funny how insiders keep coming up as untrustworthy two days in a row yet it's somehow everyone else's fault but them.

You're absolutely right.
In my case I received a screen of the trailer (or more correctly now, A trailer) a few hours ago and was told it was coming today, of course I believed it (and in this case the "source" that gave it to me has not the skills to fake something like this neither the interest in doing something similar).
And high on the certainty of it, I acted cheeky (and as I've said in the first post on this thing, for the very first time - and now probably the last one).
