Does the console version come with the PC "cheats"? I've been enjoying the FF remasters and this is the last one on my list, but I really like blowing through them on these replays.

God damn, i was really concerned that i wouldnt like the combat in this, but i'm finding it really enjoyable. The world, story and characters so far are great. This is the only modern single player FF title I havent played, i'm glad to be rectifying it

By going down the rabbit hole after reading this news, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that square patched the ps4 version of the game with all the additions that came to the switch and Xbox versions. I don't think they did that for FFX's remaster.

Huh, I have PS4 version, never started it. What did they add?

A license reset feature that was exclusive to the switch and Xbox versions, and I think the option to rotate between three sets of gambits or something. although the more I read, it sounds like the Xbox versions got 60 FPS and the PS4 pro version didn't. I wonder if there's 60 FPS available on the ps5? That's disappointing to find out.

Telling people they only have to play several hundred hours of an MMO to "get to the good stuff" and that they haven't even played the real game before that point is surely the best way to encourage more players and to create a healthy rapport.

Zodiac Age is SO good.

Xbox One X got 1080p 60fps while PS4 Pro got 1440p 30fps as far as I remember. I have a hard time understanding the reasoning for this one to be honest, and I also don't know why we are not getting next gen patches for 4k 60fps as it should be quite easy to do.

Was gonna say exactly this. Why do people think you can't decide you hate a game until you've played at least X amount of hours?...
If I have to slog through an hour/two hours/three hours/etc. of a game I hate just because there MIGHT be a good part in it afterwards, it's still a terrible game...

Somewhere
If you could ude a 4th party member this game would be perfect.

I'm now on the mines and Vaan is waaaaay less annoying than I remember.

Occasionally, you're allowed to use 4 members at once (including a guest character), and when you do it's awesome.

The reason why it's so enjoyable is because it's satisfying to think of set-ups and responses, and then watch your plan pay off in action. But it's a little confusing with how little hand-holding there is in the game. Gambits really need to be set up and used properly before things really take off. I found that using an online gambit guide for my party really helped me in the beginning. I was able to start with a good basic strategy and then tweak it along the way. Crawling through dungeons and adapting to new enemies by toggling through gambit options made for a really fun experience.

Haven't played FFXII since the PS2 release, tried this and the motion blur is yiiiiiiiikes.

When it's moving I feel like everything is a blur and can't see shit. Any way to turn this off through .ini edits or something?

Game looks kinda blurry in 1080p/8xMSAA (disabling DOF does not helps), reshade with sharpening will help or maybe nvidia sharpening? (and which sharpening filter is now considered better)

In ffxiv case try like 100+ hours. ARR questline is borderline awful.

Midgar, With Love
So many people in here who obviously haven't played FFXIV if they're calling this the best FF.

This is the second best FF.

I absolutely adore XIV, but must we (as in, an assortment of XIV diehards) do this in every thread praising another FF? lol

I'd argue it's rather unique in XIV's case. You get through what amounts to about a full single-player Final Fantasy that's decent if unspectacular. Afterward, you're treated to what amounts to numerous single-player Final Fantasy titles, and they're mid-high tier at worst (Stormblood) and damn near peerless otherwise.

Given that it's ultimately all the same game, I cannot imagine referring to an installment with such long-lasting highs as "terrible."

How on earth was this game balanced back when it was just a single job board. Where all the values less or did they tweak HP on enemies after that point in the story.

In the original the max HP and damage cap was 9999 and you couldn't go above that. Stats were done differently, a lot of enemies were different and it just had a very large amount of changes done to it for Zodiac.

Just trying to start the damn game for about 20 minutes now. First, the settings option that gamepass lets you launch instantly doesn't respond and I can't change anything.

When I start the game there is a loading spinner in the top left and I am stuck on the menu and I can't get the cursor to show to choose new game.

Finally got into the game, and I get a C++ Runtime error 2 minutes in. Welp. Uninstalling.

This was me with XV lol

And with the Zodiac version opening the gambits of partners it really makes it clear that the game shines with 4, they could at least made the hotswap of the party more fluid.

Man I'm not a big fan of the sound design in this game. Everything just sounds so weak and unsatisfying.

Need help. I think i ran to silly difficulty spike. So I just arrived to Fran's village. The game was fair up to this point. I replayed 1 boss and died a few times with regular enemies but it was fine.

But that "ponies" in dungeon beforr Arthoza Quicksands are destroying me. I ran past them but there is a huge boss which practically one hits kill my every character. That sand cropses also kill everyone with single hit.

They are 18-24 levels, i did a few hunts, bought some better weapons and armour and so on, upgrader licenses and gain a lot of health points but still, they just touch me and I am dead. What did I miss? Do i have to go grind in some area for 5 hours? If so, I am probably unninstalling this game, which would be shame since I enjoy it.

Unless you played through Heavensward you didn't play long enough. Sure it's a long ride up to that point but
No, thanks then, FOH lol

Haven't played/beat FFXII since it launched on PS2, am a bit hesitant to jump in again as it's a huge commitment, even from the start, but hope a yonne trying it for the first time enjoys it.

Is this like NNk 2 where you have to grind?

I dont understans how I can be underleveled when i cleared every possible route on my map and even returned to some areas previously cleaned. :/

They really fucked up that difficulty spike when you are absolutely ok in one area but in the next one enemies are one hit killing you. I was happy to finally finish some re ps4 era final fantasy game but well... fucking grinding.

Is there a way to set up gambits to check if an enemy is vulnerable to something and if they are also 50% or higher health cast the spell?

I'm finding that my mages are blowing through mana casting spells on enemies that are at like one pixel of health.

The game does not require any grinding for anything in the main game. There are sections in some areas with enemies that are stronger than you can handle the first time you go there. Chances are you walked into one of the caves and found Adrammalech. Just remember that he's there but he's optional.

Yeah that is true each area has things that you should not be able to kill the first time you are there or never like the elementals lol

Nope. Honestly, I don't fuck with magic outside of hunts or bosses, it's not worth the effort and saves all MP for healing both in and out of battle. The magic person and 2 melee, and often times guest, is more than enough for all trash across the map, especially at 4x speed and if the healer has physical skills, like a whm/machinist. Any precision or aoe magic is one of the few times I take control and cast it myself.

There is for vulnerability but is per element and I think the mage needs to be the one with libra.

Wouldn't putting a x%<=hp attack above the normal casting work?

Go into Trial Mode. On trail 3 you will encounter Flowering Cactoid. Keep resetting until you can steal a Karkata (about 3%). You will also need around 1000 LP. At that point you will have a weapon that will carry you until near the end of the game.
