There were lots of people complaining that the FFVIIR soundtrack released back in May was not a complete soundtrack, and was missing a lot of cutscene tracks. Looks like this release is for them.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE Original Soundtrack Plus

This four-disc collection includes songs from cut scenes and other in-game moments that weren’t a part of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE Original Soundtrack which was released in May, 2020.

At 4 whole CDs it's half the size of the already gargantuan 7 disc (+1 for LE) soundtrack. Physical only for now, guess we'll have to wait for digital/streaming news.

I don't think there was 4 CDs worth of in-game music omitted from the first soundtrack release so I guess it has some piano renditions and remixes?

Shit man, I already spent a lot on the 8 disc set. Will probably splurge for this also.

It's kind of shocking to think that there still were so many unreleased tracks despite such a huge soundtrack... But I'll be getting this as well.

I'm really hoping the more ambient version of A Trap Is Sprung will be released.

Oh wow. There were definitely a few cues that I missed from the official soundtrack, so I might grab this as well. Do wish I could see a proper tracklist first though.

Holy shit, 4 CDs of music that was not part of the first OST. I noticed a few tracks were missing but not 4 entire CDs!

They better have that song that plays over the final cutscene (the really joyful/epic orchestral version of the main theme. The one that plays before Hollow does) because that's one epic track.

You'd be surprised. I mentioned it sometime earlier in the year, but comparing it against the existing rips that are out there, I'd say there's approximately 110 unique songs/cutscene pieces that didn't make the cut, and roughly 40 different variations of existing tracks. (Such as battle edits, quieter variations, etc.)

If it wasn't already mentioned, they're also coming out with a designated arranged album, coming on November 25th:

Final Fantasy VII remake has to have one of the largest soundtracks at this point. 12 discs would already put it up against things like Final Fantasy XIV which has had multiple expansion packs.

need to hear the rips, cannot wait to see what tracks are part of the OST plus.

Midgar, With Love
I want to briefly reference the title of a fourth-disc track for plot spoiler purposes. Don't click unless you've finished the game.

Given the odd way he seems to have went out, lots of people I've spoken with have assumed Wedge survived the events of the game. However, between his final words in the script and the title of that track — "Goodbye Wedge" — I'm now more certain than ever that the Arbiters of Fate did, indeed, kill him in Chapter 17.

Nice. While it's unfortunate that some variations still appear to be missing (the Sweepers section of "Mako Reactor," and the more subdued version of "Hand Over Hand" chief among them), the inclusion of The Turks: Plate Separation, Memorial Museum, and Shinra Combat Simulator ~ Fanfare please me.

And then there are some of my favorite cutscene inclusions, like "Heidegger's Frustration" after defeating the Crab Warden, "Eyes of a SOLDIER", the cinematically thrilling piece before facing off against The Airbuster, and "Escape from the Shinra Building." Most crucial are the suite of ending tracks from "Those Chosen By the Planet ~ Destiny Comes", to "Out of Destiny's Reach."

Red XIII's Theme - Nothing More

Annoyed this wasn't included in the original. Happy I am getting it now.

There are a few duplicates from the first OST. My guess is they might be extended versions. Midgar Expressway is straight up called "long version".

Battle themes like Rufus Shinra and The Arsenal did have extended intros that were cut from the first release, though I'm curious to see why they would repeat the likes of "Let the Battles Begin! - A Merc's Job", "J-E-N-O-V-A - Quickening", and "The Airbuster" when they were already quite complete on their own. (I would love to at least see The Airbuster rearranged into a smoother sounding suite though, because they sure butchered it the first time.) The Valkyrie was also missing some key music segments.

And yes, it is amusing to think what a 'long version' of an already ten minute track will end up as in Midgar Expressway.

I can't fathom why S-E Music didn't just release the whole soundtrack as a Bluray Audio disc, as they've been doing with so many of their other soundtrack releases.

samples of CD2 are available now and "The First Guy I Ever Loved" is sooo beautiful. Perfect match for that scene.

Yo those samples are fire. Truly worthy of the soundtrack of the year.

I'm really looking forward to this. There were some tracks that were sorely missed in the soundtrack released earlier this year, like Hole in the Sky (spoiler footage I guess, just to be safe). That one is just insane. When I first heard it in game and the key change happened I just stopped what I was doing for a bit. Really good stuff.

It has so much music, period. I wonder if this is the largest original OST that's actually released on a traditional media format. Games like GTAV and stuff technically have tons of dynamic music.

What blows my mind is this is just the soundtrack for one game out of potential several. It's feels like there is enough music contained the OST for multiple games worth of tracks.

Although I do wonder if they plan to reuse any of the existing material for FFVII:R part 2, or plan to create even more original tracks. It's amazing really.

I'm guessing we'll get new arrangements. Maybe some specific themes might get re-used but with the way FFVII remake is I'm guessing it's going to be a bunch of new original arrangements, new songs, etc again.

When I got the original soundtrack some of the mastering seemed not great, especially Airbuster. Wonder if this will fix it

Aw, I was hoping one of the Disc 2 tracks would be the version of Smash 'Em, Rip 'Em with the extended electronic part. FF7R OST++ hopefully.
