"Enhanced"Oh yeah, I do. Fucking PlayOnline. Shit even said Enhanced by PlayOnline I think.
Only so much compression you can do to a 4 CD game without the original binaries

All fair points. Though they do have higher quality models that's not any major diffYeah, but... a PSX cd was 650 meg tops, and 4x650 is 2600. Plus data was doubled on each disk that didn't really need to be there for a single install.
So it's a pretty legit question really. It's not like the game has higher res textures, lol.

$20?? Thasssss crazzzzyyyyy. I'll wait for a sale, too many games to play.
Can people who are fans explain what they love about it? Is it a fairly long game?
Yeah on second thought the price isn't too crazy considering how much I enjoyed of what I played of it. It felt like the last great classic FF if that makes sense but I didn't get far.

Also curious as to how it runs and if there are any speed up options etc.
Blah. Uses that same font. Music probably not fixed either. I'll stick with playing
PS1 version on Vita. Happy for those who get to play for first time at least.
It's endearing as hell. Great characters and a story that doesn't go up its own ass like other JRPGs. The music is some of Uematsu's best, too. Great villain, too.
The style brings back a lot of old Final Fantasy feel, too, in a way not many after FF6 did.
Awesome. I remember how much I liked it when it came out after the dispointement I personally had with 8, felt like they really got the charm of the series back.Characters
Beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds
Excellent soundtrack
Pacing
Good story
Its basically Square Soft's magnum opus. imo. One of the last good things they put outbefore Enix.( Kingdom Hearts 1)

Oooh. Never seen this. This looks delicious. The Steam PC release is the definitive one if you use the mods. The Ze_PilOt background mod alone makes it worth it
There are probably some cards that are missable. I think there are missable items in the Desert Palace and in the area at the end of Disc 3. The major missable/reward item is for reaching almost the end of the game in 12 hours or fewer.Okay, I bought it. I still think the character designs are bad, but there are just so many good impressions of this game I don't want to let that one thing put me off.
Anything I really need to know before my playthrough? I don't need to 100% the game, but if there are any really important missables or crazy requirements for a true ending, I'd like to hear about them. As spoiler-free as possible, preferably.
But FFVIII isn't coming out on Switch!
Play Online gave me dial up internet PTSD lol
Yup when I saw that price I lost excitement. That switch tax sure is something.
Which is amazing considering that the $10 PS1 Classic release on PSN (PS3/Vita) is a million times better than this horrible mobile port. It's not a Switch tax. IOS, PS4, Xbox, Windows Store, and Steam all have that same price.
Watching the same and music resetting bug is still there.Watching a twitch stream for the Switch version and it looks like the first battle in each new area takes like 15 seconds to load compared to 5 seconds for following encounters.
