Which dream game remake do you want to see once FF7 is fully finished?

Imagine seeing iconic scenes fully remade?

If they remake either of those games, it needs to be done with sprites. FF6 needs Brave Exvius style sprites specifically.

FF6 is gonna happen over CT, seeing as how it's the FF most desperately in need a remake of some sort.

Neither need a remake to be honest, they are great the way they are, but that's just me.

I can barely picture Square remembering to re-release Chrono Trigger on any console ever again, let alone remaking it in any capacity.

I don't want either of those games looking like FF7R. FF6 should look like Octopath and Chrono Trigger should look like DQXI

FF7R engine is just Unreal 4. But I'd want to see FF6 in the style of Octopath then Chrono Trigger like Trials of Mana

FF VI in a Style similar to octopath or what we saw from eiyuden. Full on 4k realistic style doesn't fit the world of VI in my opinion.

Neither Final Fantasy VI, nor Chrono Trigger are suitable for a reimagining in the way of FFVIIR. Trials of Mana is a better example of how a modern reimagining of classic SNES RPGs should be handled.

I love both of them, but it's never going to happen.

It's better not to dream.

I don't think either would really work unless they kept it 2d

Remaking Chrono Trigger in 3d would probably take many years and it wouldn't be as charming as the original

Chrono Trigger still holds up extremely well and I can't see Square Enix improving on it. They can do a lot better than the dumpster fire PC version of FF6, though, so I voted for that.

just my personal opinion
none of the titles above , each remake title should use their own engine

It's obviously not gonna be ff6.

Chrono trigger in the style of DQXI and Trials of Mana.

Chrono cross remaster with new models.( we ll fix the backgrounds ourselves on PC since square refuses to do it :) )

Well, one Chrono Trigger character has already been made with the FF7 Engine.

So Chrono Trigger. For many reasons.

If FFVI were to be remade i'd fucking die of happiness. I just can't imagine how my face would look if I saw it announced. Only thing that could ever make me happier is a Xenogears remake.... and Xenosaga remake.

Chrono Trigger is the best game they've ever made. So that. But only if they don't fuck with the story.

I think Chrono Trigger is pretty expertly paced with a simple plot and decent enough development for it's main characters (which was a lot for the time, especially with all their little side quests). You could improve the visuals and get a higher quality soundtrack but I don't think there is much to add to Trigger. Maybe some more connections to Cross. Final Fantasy VI, with the massive scope of it's plot and wide cast of characters, has much to gain from a remake and has moments where expansion would only make the game better, imho.

Trials of Mana them both instead.

I've mentioned before but getting to Astoria in ToM immediately made me fantasize the similar layout of FF6 Kohlingen and it's such a wonderful dream, the art style is a perfect match for the SNES era RPGs.

They already did this with the DS release.

I agree with you though. Unlike FF6 (or even 7 for that matter) there really isn't much to touch up beyond the visuals the soundtrack. I guess they could do an action combat system that put an emphasis on team attacks.

FF6 is my most wanted remake ever. But I don't want something a la Octopath, the remake needs to bring new life to the characters. An art style close to FF4 DS but with modern technologies would be perfect. They did a fantastic job at translating Amano designs to the game in 4DS, the concepts art are fantastic

Neither. Both are perfect the way they are. Square Enix will fuck that shit up and my heart can't take it.

Chrono Trigger, because of the diversity of locations, and because you don't really explore the towns in the original, (just click a map.)

That sounds awful. If they're remaking Chrono Trigger, it should look like Blue Dragon or DQ11. There is absolutely no reason for it to look anything like FF7R.

Given how the old games rely on overworld maps, I'm not sure how it will translate into 3d games like FF7R. If it is integrated with towns and dungeons, say goodluck with Square's software output for the next 5 years at minimum. Also how many parts will each game be split into, given the length of their story?
