For all their possession, France were poor. USA scored with their only 2 attacks.

Feeling a lot less pessimistic about England's chances right now.

This is so bullshit.

Still, we were so sloppy in terms of passing and finishing that coming back at 2-1 was an achievement.

FIFA needs to do some explanation about why the penalty was called against Japan but not against the USA.
It was because the Japanese defender's arms were out and away from a natural sihlouette. They weren't too far out but they were, even though she was bringing them back in. The USA defender's arms were down by her side in a natural position, hence no penalty. It's all part of the new law.

I think US had better attacks even if France had more possession. I think US victory is well deserved.

Her hands were behind her torso, not besides.

France has only themselfs to blame. Way to many chances wasted. Le sommer was bad and wasted alot of good attacks with wrong decisions.
Alot to learn this team has hhhmmm.

Great game with awesome atmosphere. France really wasted a bit to many passes though. Still I think they deserved more.

It wasn't a penalty as the American player had her arms a lot closer to her body than the Japanese and Swedish players that were penalized in similar situations.

Yeah why is this even an issue. Arm was against her body. It's not why France lost. They had opportunities and didn't convert.

Honestly can't tell if these are fans of other nations' soccer clubs or anti USWNT trolls. Thread seemed a lot more fun previous to this game.

Spain
They literally had a penalty stolen from France, a penalty given in the game against Spain that was world class diving, and a penalty stolen from Spain.
No single referee mistake against them.

That was before the referees handed the second game in a row to the US.

Nah, it's the same situation.

If they wanted such nuances, they would have kept the old interpretation of the rule.

And France was robbed of the penalty! The refereeing in this World Cup is being truly fucking shameful. First they robbed Cameroon, then the red card to Australia, then they robbed Spain, now they rob France. What the fuck.

Must have missed that match, what happened with Cameroon?

I'm sure you're not talking about the England game, where the VAR calls were all correct and Cameroon were extremely lucky to not have ended the match with 8 players.
