I don't think this is generally true. There's a lot of right wing grifters out there, but almost all of them shrivel up and die pretty quickly because their audience just moves on to the next thing to be outraged about. Very few of those people have a sustained income for any notable length of time.

it definitely is lucrative, but i think you can gain a lot of noteriety and bad blood if you don't keep your mouth shut. like bad enough to get doxxed etc.
my guess is you become a performer and maybe a bit of a sex worker in the sense that a lot of your work will be on demand of the highest bidders. that kind of crowd can be loyal but also toxic and volatile.

I only just found out about this today when she tweeted that "apology". Totally and utterly disappointing. I've been meaning to trim down my Patreon subscriptions so she's made this an easy decision.
I don't think it's as easy as "draw porn" - you'd need to have something to make you stand out from everyone else who thinks drawing porn is the quicked way to fortune.

Yeah, it's pretty mind blowing that people can rake in six figures with naughty art. Skill isn't even the main factor in an artist's popularity. It's more about social media engagement and whether your art has mainstream appeal or caters to a robust niche. Saucy fanart is lucrative. Furry erotica can pay heaps.
I've been thinking of taking a stab at it myself. I'd much rather draw stuff that isn't really to my taste than suffer in the rat race until I can retire. Regular jobs are trash.
