If discussing western hypocrisy on sex vs violence is off limits I'm unclear what else there is to talk about? Someone did a bad, they stopped the stream. end of story?

It's funny how corporate it sounds.
Also I care equally about tits and feelings.
The video game industry has clear isssues with some objectification of women that needs to Ben adressed, but this seems like it's being blown out of proportion.
I do, a lot, enough to recognize that guys avatar. Hell I'm even a patreon to that artist. I also realize that sexualization doesn't need to permeate every bit of media I ingest, especially when there's an extremely healthy community to support that OUTSIDE of the media itself.
I think the point is that's better done in it's own thread. You're welcome to make it if you'd like, but here, it's nothing but a false equivalency being used to derail the conversation of what actually happened.
I mean, the head developers of a fighting game brought gravure models onto a stage that was supposed to be used to discuss their new game and joked around about their favorite sexual positions while the models slapped each others asses.
I don't understand how this could be any less within proportion.
I wouldn't put it ALL on the FGC, I'm sure the general anti-SJW/gamergate crowd has picked up on it and started chiming in as well.

People like Camstun really need to simmer down. People venting their frustrations or disapproval of certain cultural phenomena is NOT an attack on you and your well being. You don't need to defend Dead or Alive, or KT, I'm sure they will do just fine without you and most importantly you don't need to defend yourself because once again, nobody is attacking you.
If you have that much of an issue with it then just ignore the thread, shouting "STOP COMPLAINING EVERYOOOOOOONE" doesn't help anything or anyone.

Thats fair, I guess. Seems like the situation that happened here was dealt with quickly and appropriately which is fairly unusual for the video game community so it seems like things are getting blown out of proportion. If they had just continued allowing this it'd be one thing but it seems like Evo Japan handled things pretty well.

I'm late but HOLY SHIT the more I read this the creepier it becomes, EVO is not the place for this kind of stuff, save that for, um, YummyPepperoni gaming or something.There was a Team Ninja? dude on stage with 2 gravure models in ripped clothing they kept freeze framing the game and zooming in on the characters boobs and crotches and commenting about it. The Models were also commenting on each other boobs and stuff and poking each others and such. The last freeze frame before the stream was cut was a male character giving a female character a sit-down power bomb and his face clipping into her crotch

My opinion is that 1) the stage show was bad and never should have happened and 2) Mr Wizard's response was also bad.
At the very least, Evo should have laid out ground rules as to what is or isn't allowed on stage. It seems that they didn't do that.
Wizard's apology is bad because presenting himself as a paragon of core values of the fgc is laughable. This is the same guy who activately antagonizes Melee fans and makes factually incorrect statements. I really wish he would step down and the Cannons/Markman would handle Evo by themselves.

Nope, I can just compartmentalize between lewd/sexual content and what actually matters.
If I stopped to think if every little thing was sexist I wouldn't have a girlfriend right now.
On the other hand if I see an outfit I want my GF to wear and she doesn't want too she doesn't have too. Women aren't objects, their people with thoughts and feelings.

Actually, I think you don't have a complete understanding of just how rampant sexism is. Sexism is so prevalent in our society that even if we don't consciously think about it, prejudices are injected throughout the deep subconscious of society.
I think women should be allow to do what they want to do. The issue arises if they didn't really want to do it.
Not going to get into the thick of things, let's just say that as soon as I saw your avatar I laughed my ass off. You've kneecapped any of your discussions from being taken seriously by just having it.
I'm trying to say that it's up to the women themselves to do it if they want to, I don't think we should tell someone what they should and shouldn't do if that's what they want to. Of course, it's probably impossibly to know whether they truly want to do it though so I guess it's a moot point.

I'm sure MANY people do work against their personal moral compass because they need an income. Even if they ARE enjoying how they make a living (which, go for it, with a short career lifespan) doesn't mean aspects of it aren't dubious within a wider frame where sexism is STILL widespread and still goes largely unfettered.

Well, if the girls were doing it consensually and enjoying it, I don't think it's a huge issue. Of course it's much harder to know though because we live in a society/economy that objectifies women and thus forces some to make careers out of doing it, so would they do the same in a different power balance? That's where I tend to find myself about this stuff. Makes wonder if I have a weak libido. I like Dead or Alive and all, but I don't take my pants off when I want to pull off some sweet counters. Not what I'm there for.
