Finally ! After all these years ;_;
Wasn't it supposed to be a facebook game at some point, then cancelled, then never coming, then maybe some smartphone thing, then nope, then talked about, then never talked about again, then.....
I'm still not sure it's really coming tbh. Whoah.

Looks like only one old Mastermind from the first game. Though not including the Fu Manchu parody was probably right move.

It's been a long time coming.

Looks like we can have multi-storey lairs, and combine them with resort facilities (instead of only being able to have the resort in a separate building away from the base)

So happy to see this classic back. The original Evil Genius was the first video game I really became absorbed in and sunk a lot of hours into as a kid.

Why is no one on this forum currently losing their minds?!

We've been waiting since....2004....oh...wait, that's probably why.

I really want to love this game because I loved the original, but I suspect that with the modern tendency of unreasonable hardware demands for uncomplicated visuals, my little gaming potato will not be able to even try to run it.

Still pretty happy to see it happen, though. PC gaming needs more old classics and forgotten genres to return.

Yes! Yeeees! Biggest E3 news so far!

Evil Genius was so close to being amazing. The idea was fun, the presentation amazing, and then it was just kind of dull. They made a game with mind controlling bee traps dull. Mind Controlling Bees!

Please be the game the original promised to be! The full potential of Evil Genius unleashed upon the world!

Now do an evil laugh with me!
MUA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HAAA!

Excuse me sir it was certainly not dull
The game incentivized NOT using all the fun traps. Just use Valets and you won't get bombed. And when you get the Mind draining bees, you have the trump card. They break into the max security Shed of Bees, lose all their Mind stat instantly, and a Valet comes by to escort them off the island where they report home that everything is fine.

If you start getting creative, like chaining traps together, you'll get worse retaliations from the faction whose agents are now MIA.

They need to make the whole being evil thing more optimal.

I really want to play the game Evil Genius could have been. I hope this game will be it.

Loved Evil Genius. Needs management of Sims combined with the insane trap design and base building of Dungeon Keeper and Dwarf Fortress with the theme of 80's bond. Loved the OST, the whacky art style, etc. I also loved how funny it was to torment the various LEGION or whatever forces of good by putting them in the mixer in the kitchen etc. until they turn into another mook for my forces of EVIL! I also liked the various "Super Agents" and how you had to keep them locked up or otherwise dealt with while you had to figure out how to get rid of them for good. Too bad EG1 needed quite a bit of fan-patching but it's excusable considering how old the game was.

But yeah I loved EG. Definitely a hidden gem and I always was annoyed the game never really took off because everyone I know who knows about it enjoyed it. Was so funny to put various fake shacks uptop with high security doors (Forces of Good's investigators are much more likely to try and get it open) and the rooms are all empty, making them waste so much time checking all these decoy rooms their shift would end and they'd have to abort and leave before they got to the freezer room full of body bags.

You didn't fill your high security shacks with bees? Bees solve everything.

This might sound weird, but the thing I remember most clearly was how shiny the floors were, and really high quality footstep sounds.

I was dreading an Epic Game Store exclusive, since the OP didn't mention Steam but thankfully it isn't. Sounds neat, absolutely interested.

OP is spot on, i've been waiting so damn long for this.
It's a crime that a gem like this is so forgotten. :(

Holy shit, yes!!! This is a pleasant surprise!

I see that the first game is not yet on Mac, but someone has made instructions on how to make it work on the Mac, so I might get on to it!

Well, this is a pleasant surprise. The original always seemed like it had a lot of unfufilled potential, and despite all the recent attempts to do a Dungeon-Keeper-a-like, none of the indie efforts felt like they'd quite got the balance right.

The character design looks absolutely phenomenal, respecting a lot the original designs.
I really cant wait, always loved this game.

Well that was a one-two punch. First I remember that this game was announced and then I read that it was also delayed.
