Well I'm seven weeks away from my flight from Germany to the US but I'll chime in anyway. I'm pretty much going through different scenarios in my head. If Denver is going to be on lockdown in May and the flight won't be cancelled, I'm thinking about cancelling the whole trip at my expense. If some semblance of a regular vacation is still possible and only some activities like the two concerts at Red Rocks are cancelled I'm going to get my ass to Denver because I hate seeing my money, planning and vacation time go to waste.
Maybe that's not the most responsible thing to do but I'm a stubborn guy.
I am (April 30th)... but in fairness to me, that vacation would be to spend days on my own in the middle of the wilderness.I don't think a single person in this thread is considering flying in March/april to go on vacation...
I'm hoping things will be better by then but it's probably unrealistic
I have a flight to Portugal in June. Not sure what I should do right now. I'm hoping things will be better by then but it's probably unrealistic. I purchased travel insurance thank god
Supposed to start a 6 month European vacation in early May...
been saving up for it for 8 years. Job at work has been backfilled...FML
My parents had a flight to Italy April 28th, and the airlines have been a complete pain in the ass getting it refunded. I can't remember who they were flying with. Yesterday, my dad was finally able to cancel and get a full refund.I have a flight to Italy early May (booked months ago) for a wedding and meeting up with family. The wedding has been canceled since but my flight has not. I'm hopeful I can cancel and get a full refund for the flight. Last time I checked, however, American Airlines was not offering refunds that far out.
Glad to hear they were able to cancel. After reviewing the AA coronavirus page a moment ago it looks like they do allow cancelations now, even for basic economy. Not sure about full refunds, but at the very least it appears I can use the value of my ticket towards a future flight. As long as there are no restrictions on how far out I use this value I'm fine with it.My parents had a flight to Italy April 28th, and the airlines have been a complete pain in the ass getting it refunded. So yeah this flight is now off because I'm coming from UK/Ireland. I'm in a bind though because my travel insurance covers it, but the excess is ÂŁ75, and the price to change flights is only about half that. I may just kick the can down the road and change the flight to a later date (it would need to be after June I guess, the way things are looking?).I'm flying from Ireland to DC to visit family in April, current FCO advice doesn't exclude the US yet so I guess I'm still going. I'll monitor their advice until then.

Finally heard back from the travel agent last night. We are getting 100% credit on our trip to be used by the end of 2021. Hopefully we'll be able to go to the same place at the same time next year.My wife and I had a trip booked from the US to UK and Italy at the end of next month. I have asked our travel agent to recover whatever she can to postpone it until next year.
you fly commercial? I thought you had your own 737 or Sr-71I was going to Singapore with my daughter for spring break on air miles- I tried to wait it out and weirdly got improved flights and upgrades as they shifted stuff around but eventually realized it was never going to happen- Alaska refunded everything smoothly and politely. Their customer service has been great.
Nepal has closed its borders until the end of April. We are debating whether to try to go in May (seems too soon) or October.
