As the House buys time before handing over articles of impeachment to the Senate, can voices like this move Trump supporters to wake up from their fever dream and leave their MAGA caps behind?
"[T]he facts in this instance are unambiguous: The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president's political opponents. That is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral."
"Trump's evangelical supporters have pointed to his Supreme Court nominees, his defense of religious liberty, and his stewardship of the economy, among other things, as achievements that justify their support of the president. ... None of the president's positives can balance the moral and political danger we face under a leader of such grossly immoral character."

Is there a particular reason people are calling them pedophile supporters besides it being a Christian publication?

I don't know their history, but this definitely has potential to ding trump a bit. This is his base, and if they're willing to turn on him who knows.

Worth noting some background about this site:

1. Founded by Billy Graham
2. Said the same thing about Nixon in 74 and Clinton in 98.

They avoid speaking directly about political figures like this, preferring to discuss issues and align with what evangelicals should believe.

That's what makes this so powerful. They aren't just another voice; they are easily the most recognizable and distinguished outlet for evangelicalism.

This won't go away, even if it doesn't move the line for Trump's supporters. It's a direct rebuke to Graham's son (Franklin) and to the culture he's fostered.

Evangelicals have been shown to be huge frauds. Their faith is a cheap and ugly thing that is easily swayed by the orange calf they worship. Their idolatry is cult-like and amoral. They won't care.

I dare them to prove me wrong.

The site crashed not long after it went up. I'll take help wherever I can get it.

Also worth noting - this site has been saying similar things for a while, but this is easily the most direct.

Speak Truth to Trump (from 2016)

And therefore it is completely consistent that Trump is an idolater in many other ways. He has given no evidence of humility or dependence on others, let alone on God his Maker and Judge. He wantonly celebrates strongmen and takes every opportunity to humiliate and demean the vulnerable. He shows no curiosity or capacity to learn. He is, in short, the very embodiment of what the Bible calls a fool.

What is the actual current demographic readership of Christianity Today? Additionally, fwiw, I bear in mind that pence is in if Trump is out and so the motivations behind this still do not deter from my mind the model of the all-in republican.

They have nothing else, so of course not. Their identity is tied up with MAGA more than its tied up with being human. MAGA life until death for a good 80% of them I'd say.

Of course he's next if anything happens, but that's neither here nor there right now.

Evangelical leaders knew Trump was a deal with the devil, but Pence was their pocket straight laced guy that would inevitably take the reins once Trump shoots himself in the foot enough.

Don't think they expected their flock to become true believers and love Trump like they do right now, Ican see them trying to shadow campaign to get Trump out.

Yeah, this is going to do nothing but get Christianity Today labelled as a bunch of leftist or socialists or whatever.

Evangelicals built this golden idol as a trojan horse, but now it's come to life and it keeps shitting everywhere, and the people won't stop worshipping it.

They get about 5 million site visits a month on their website and about 2.5 million read their magazine.

It's not nothing but it isn't even a dent in the Trump base.

This may be a controversial opinion, but why do we need to save terrible people? Trump isn't why they're shitty, they were shitty before him. Trump just made them feel more confident being openly shitty.

Don't expect much from this. American "Christians" who support Trump, or the GOP in general for that matter, have decades of experience at not caring what their religion actually says. If you think they're going to choose between their religion and politics, think again. They will believe what they want, and claim the Bible supports them anyway.

Since Trump, they've taken ignoring facts to a whole new level, but it's a skill they did already have.

I really don't it does, his supporters don't give a shit. It was never about God, morals, ethics, etc. It is about winning and getting the things you want, nothing else matters anymore.
Absolutely. The same people downplaying kids in cages because "they broke the laws" are the exact same that believes nothing should happen when their boy breaks laws detrimental to the nation.

This means nothing. Evangelicals have proven time and time again that as long as they get their judges and laws the don't care about character.
