Maybe the sale list isn't yet complete, the number seems small and theme is random.
Not terrible in terms of some of them are the lowest they've been but not a great range
Bloodstained is currently $25 at EB, Bayonetta + Vanquish is $49 at EB and Amazon AU and CTR is $49 at several places too if you prefer the physical editions. These prices aren't that great TBH :/
Thanks as always Bishop89 for the topic. I'll pick up Duke Nukem 3D and one of the classic Dooms I think. I'm also tempted by Jak & Daxter as it's one of my first Platinums and one of my favourite platformers ever, but don't know whether to go for the first game or whole collection for double the price. My daughter also wants Kingdom: Two Crowns but I'll wait for a bigger discount than 25%.

Is Doom 2 considered as essential as Doom 1?
They're often talked about almost as one, but I've heard Doom 2 has really long and confusing levels whereas one is better designed in that regard
I've only ever played Doom 2016 so want to check the early games out, but not sure if I should get 1 or 1 and 2
Is 2 possible without a guide or does it get annoying fast?
Also, how difficult are these games for someone playing them for the first time in 2020?

I don't think it's sprawling that are the complaint. It's gimick ones.
Technology wise there's very little difference. 2 could nearly be another chapter of 1
Here in Spain the sale is being called "Remasterizados y Retro", so it does seem to be mostly remasters and older games.

Kinda surprised to not see the Konami Castlevania/Arcade/Contra collections there. Although they've been on sale so many times it's not really a great bummer.

Aww no Street Fighter collection. Had the hankering for some 3rd Strike last night and thought the stars had aligned when I saw the theme of the sale. The physical is cheap on Amazon - but would much rather have digital, so think I'll hold off until the next one.

Yeah they've fixed a lot of stuff via a couple of patches; platinumed both of them on PS4 last year and I don't recall coming across any bugs

Is the input lag still awful in Parappa? Is the Harvest Moon AWL port any good? Or is that a PS2 classic?

Much higher resolution/textures on pro IIRC.
Game ran at 720p on 360.
Reminder to, for the love of god, not buy Metal Slug Anthology. Input lag to the point of barely playable.

Yeah, I have the Samurai Showdown one, and it's fine (good even!) but this is three AoF's for less than a single Hamster release :D Which again, is dumb, as I'm really only interested in 3. For some strange reason I love that one the most.
I have an undying nostalgic love for AOF2 because they had it at a caravan park that I used to visit as a kid. Spent years as a teenager having fond memories of this weird arcade fighting game that wasn't Street Fighter or King of Fighters but never knew what it was. Once I finally re-discovered it I got hooked all over again!
Got the Hamster version on Switch but would like it on PS4 for use with my arcade stick.
Seconding this. 12 frames of latency inherent to the game itself. That's on top of display latency and controller latency.
It is an abomination.
AoF2 is one of those weird games where despite me being so damn bad at the game (the AI is terrifying) I love it loads. Huge sprites, amazing music and THAT Geese boss fight make it one of the most memorable Neo Geo fighters for me). 3 is the better in terms of how the game plays (and damn at how well that game animates) but the characters bar Ryo, Robert and Kasumi are just not really all that interesting to me. Would rather have Mickey, Eiji, Mr Big, King and John back...
I'll take any chance to shill: do not sleep on Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled. Amazing kart game with tons of free content added at this point.
When i see the Anthology was sale i always hesitate before i remember that this is a bad port.
I need to download it again and give it another try. I was very excited for it pre-release but overall it didn't quite live up to my expectations. I was hoping for more exploration and combat which was a little more involved. The visuals were good but it also lacked in atmosphere compared to the original. But it has been a few years and I have been thinking about it recently, so I should DL it and give it another crack.
