Morning all, not sure where the best place to post this was so redirect me if necessary.

Anyway, I finally got my hands on a PS4 this Christmas (Pro + RDR2, Tetris Effect, NMS & Wipeout). Not a present, I just bought my brother's.

I'm very tempted by VR (and 3/4 of my games are compatible) but slightly unsure whether it's worth it. Can anyone advise a probably slightly more casual gamer? Would definitely get RE7 and Astrobot if I did.

Also, any must haves on the sale for someone that has only had a Switch this gen?

VR is very fun, but just be aware that motion sickness and VR legs are definitely a real thing you should be aware of. You'll more than likely get used to it overtime, so don't let that put you off, but just be aware that RE7 especially can be kinda rough on VR if you're just starting out. It's absolutely fantastic, but it might make you a little queasy lol. Astrobot on the other hand is a great starting point, and as crazy as it sounds, WipEout is comfortable to play as well (surprisingly for a game that has you hurtling around tracks at like 300mph).

I'd also avoid Skyrim as a beginner game, because even though it's super cool, like I can't believe I was impressed by the opening cart ride which I think everyone has seen like 100 times before, it's kinda similar in terms of RE7 when it comes to locomotion, so it can make you feel a bit weird when you're starting out.

A good thing to keep in mind, or what's helped me at least, is that if you're playing a game with movement, and not just like a light gun thing, a cockpit of some description helps. Flying around on Zone of the Enders 2 (another great one to try) is way more comfortable than just walking forward on Skyrim, for example.

Also, if you do pick one up, keep in mind that there are plenty of demos on the PSN store to try out, including some almost demo disc-esque things, with multiple demos in one.

I bought Frostpunk and Ace Combat 7 Deluxe Edition. I had no time for AC7, but played a lot of Frostpunk in the last couple of days. A fantastic game!

Have they announced an additional date for a second drop of titles? I really want Return of Obra Dinn and Outer Wilds but obviously don't want to purchase either until I've at least seen if they're discounted in the next week. They were both released at the start of October, so it's possible.

For the 1st wave of games, some titles sale will end Jan 7th and others Jan 18th
So I guess the 2nd wave will come Jan 6th

Definitely got my eye on Outer Wilds and hope it's on sale too this month.

    Looks like my whinging about lack of discounts for complete editions of the games paid off (Spider-man and Days Gone). Shame - now in 2020, I've declared a moratorium on new game purchases in preparation for next gen consoles (and to clear a massive backlog). Oh dear.

    Played it already, was just to replace my physical copy as I moved to fully digital over a year ago.

    Still nothing for me. Feels like a surprisingly weak sale in terms of smaller titles and indies compared to previous years.

    Probably for the best—I should try to clear my backlog before the FVII/RE3/Cyberpunk triple punch.

    Thoughts on kingdom come deliverance royal edition? Did it get patched to perform better? If I loved games like morrowind would this be similar?
