I don't get why Ubisoft's completely stopped discounting Far Cry 4 but discount all the other ones. Really weird.

Remaster coming as a bonus for FC6? Really weird. Loving the amount of sales running atm, only just recovered from the last one.
I hadn't thought of that but that might be the case. The last sale for the DLC was in May, two months before 6 was announced. Damn I missed the boat.

FC4 was discounted back in October. Unless you are talking about Ubisoft's own store?
surprisedpikachuface.jpg

There's no way for me to actually buy FC4 from what I can see. There's a page on the store but that's for the 2 hour demo and that lists FC4 as free. I caved and bought the physical version so I was looking at the Valley of the Yetis DLC instead of the FC4 page (which still shows it as just free for me).

Sale list - Don't recognise the currency though, must be monopoly money.

No ps3 games on sale except for those that crossbuy to ps4. I guess its not even worth the effort for Sony to get an intern to put ps3 games on sale now :/

Don't think this will be the stores Xmas sale. I think that usually starts mid December and lasts for 3 or 4 weeks, with a second batch of titles a week later and deals of the day leading up as well.

How is Nioh on PS5? I assume it's locked to 30? Worth waiting for the PS5 remaster?

Otherwise, nothing really interesting. Some strange discounts, like Bloodborne base edition, when GOTY is still on Black Friday sale, or Control base, when Ultimate is on sale.

Any PS5 games (cross-gen or not)?

Control Ultimate Edition will be getting a PS5 patch early next year I think, and that comes with all the DLC while the standard edition is only £1.50 more expensive. It's only the Ultimate Edition which is getting the patch however, and it's only on sale for the rest of today.

How is Nioh on PS5? I assume it's locked to 30? Worth waiting for the PS5 remaster?

Nioh had a performance mode on even base PS4, so surely the PS5 could push it to a constant 60fps? Not sure about the resolution though as that was very low, like 720p at times as I recall.

PS5 Backwards Compatibility: All PS4 games with benefits Sony - Tech

INTRODUCTION This is a visual guide to how PS4 games play on PS5 via backwards compatibility. Almost all PS4 games run on PS5, but they're only listed here if video and/or screenshots have been analyzed for technical details. This list does not include PS4 games that have been upgraded to PS5...
Says dynamic 2160p @ 60fps with some exceptions.

I want to give my PS4 to my nieces this X-Mas, and today I was gonna make them an account with Ps+ plus so I can get November's free games today, and December's tomorrow, and also get tghe offer of 25% off for a year of PS+

I also wanted to but Ni No Kuni 2 tha is on sale until tomorrow, and now I see the new sale has Ni No Kuni 1 also, so I might the that as well

In any case I wanted to ask for advice to parents that have kids, what other games can I get them? They are 9 and 13, never had a gamimg console or device in their lives, or a gaming PC. They are super fans of anime and manga, so I was thinking Ni No Kuni could be a good game for them to start, but I haven't played it so no idea if maybe is too complicated, if they could starts directly with 2 or is better to start with 1 etc.

If not that what would be the perfect game for them to start gaming? Could be on sale now or not, I don't care. They can also play my games with my user I guess, or through console share and I have tons of them (basically all the Ps+ ones since 2013 + some)

loool this is so scummy.

Nobody buy these, if you want Control on PS4 either get the Ultimate Edition (which is the bundle with these two things and is the only one with the next gen upgrade because 505 are trash) or wait for the next time that goes on sale.

UE is currently on sale for less than the cost of both of these things.

I've got three kids (10, 7 and 4) and they enjoy a bunch of stuff. Give me a bit of time to think and I'll write down some ideas for you pal.

Nothing is screaming out as aan amazing deal, but I might get Dark Souls 2 and God of War (from the sale that ends today)

Kind of want Kiwami 2 but it's still a tenner and I have a lot of slower paced games atm, plus I suspect it may get a price drop greater in the future

Bought Mirror's Edge Catalyst for PS4. I already own it on PC, but for €3,39 I might as well buy it for PS4 too.

Oh god, they replaced prices with game names on the PlayStation Store?
Wait, how can I see game prices?

no no kuni, ratchet and clank, a hat in time, ape escape 2, crash & spyro trilogies, dragon quest xi, final fantasy x, gravity rush, sackboy a big adventure, minecraft, shantae and the pirate curse, tearaway,

Dreams potentially, at least the user created levels. Creating them might be too advanced at this stage.

I'd say these are pretty safe choices for kids

The first Borderlands 3 Season Pass is on sale, I could swear it wasn't on sale last week (just the main game). I'm mentioning this because I don't believe PSPrices tracks it.

The fact they didn't discontinue these is so fucking scummy. Fuck 505.

Thanks a lot! I was doing some research and found out a series that I didn't think about but that would be perfect, Just Dance!

So, looking through my trophy list these are some of the games my kids have enjoyed:
  • Stardew Valley - very sweet, very relaxing, only a little combat mostly against slimes, bats, that kind of thing
  • Slime Rancher - a bit like the above; a farming game where you raise slimes as cattle and sell their produce. Only one infrequent enemy type, lovely style, music and visuals. Only thing is it's in first person so they might struggle a bit with the controls? Maybe one for when they're a bit more experienced?
  • Journey - this is a very simple game and I really think everyone should be able to play it. You can only move, jump and 'sing' so despite it having a 3D camera it's very simple to control and you're always moving towards your goal which is a mountain in the distance. I played this with my daughter when she was ~4 and she liked it so much she got a bit teary at the end
  • *LocoRoco - very silly fun games where IIRC you only have to lean left or right and make the creature jump
  • *Overcooked 2 - my little one likes this. It's a fun game which starts easy but gets quite chaotic, and I think it's up to 4 players so you could play with them!
  • *Act it Out: A Game of Charades - basically just charades on the TV screen. It'll give you a song or movie or phrase you have to act out while everyone else guesses. I've played this with my family a bunch of times and it's a lot of fun, especially for a rainy day
  • *Kingdom: New Lands - a really simple but very good 2D tower-defence game. My daughter loved it and we played it a lot and got the Platinum. The sequel Kingdom: Two Crowns is better and has 2 player co-op, but you might want to try this one to see if they like it first
  • Lego City Undercover - it's like GTA for kids. Good humour, a lot of stuff to do, 2 player co-op and overall a really fun & solid game
  • Flower - very simple game, beautiful visuals and easy to control. Might be a bit too abstract for them though
  • Tearaway Unfolded - gorgeous little platform game with nice creativity and loads of charm
  • Unravel - I didn't like this much but my kids did. Very beautiful 2D platform game with a cute protagonist and wonderful presentation
  • Abzu - like Journey but underwater. Gorgeous game with lots of sea animals
  • LittleBigPlanet 3 - a lot of people dislike this one but I think it's still great. Loads of interesting levels, you can play online and try out levels other people have made and it's got co-op too. That new Sackboy Adventure game is on PS4 as well, if you would maybe like to try that one out
  • The Trine series (1, 2 and 4 - haven't played 3) (Trine 4 is on PS Now) - lovely charming 2D platform adventures with the presentation of a fairytale storybook
  • Ratchet & Clank - not the best in its series, but the only one available on PS4. Again though, it requires both sticks and you may want to wait until they're a bit more experienced before introducing this to them?
  • Guacamelee - my kids love both of these games, although they get pretty tricky later on. Maybe one to play with their helpful uncle? :)
  • Minecraft - everybody likes Minecraft
Games marked with * are available on PS Now.

EDIT - also, the Ni no Kuni games look cute but aren't they proper JRPGs so there's loads of stat management? I have the first on PS3 but have never played too far. I would suggest you get them one and see how they get on with it first.

EU PSN has like sales every other Week for ages now. Which makes it even more of a shame that the Store on PS5 doesnt seem to have a dedicated sale category.
I hope they fix this soon. It has been really annoying to need to switch tabs repeatedly to refresh the store just hoping the sale will show up in the Featured section.
I think they removed most of the other things from the Featured though, it seems to show more often now.

I don't know if these were items that were just put up in this Christmas sale, but I just bought Judgement and Ghostrunner. I think they both look like stellar titles, excited to give them a go.
