ESPN has fired one of its most popular and versatile hosts for allegedly leaking confidential company information to the news media.

The New York Post, citing "sources," was the first to report that ESPN looked into the allegations and determined that Adnan Virk didn't fully cooperate with the internal investigation.

The Post reported, "Virk was escorted off the Bristol campus (on Friday). The specific nature of the information Virk chose to share is unknown at this time."

ESPN spokesperson Josh Krulewitz confirmed to USA TODAY Sports on Sunday that Virk "no longer works at ESPN."

There is a name I have not heard in a long time. I remember when he was on the score. Wonder what it was he leaked.

Wow. I enjoyed his enthusiasm on the radio when he filled in for other hosts. I wonder what he leaked.

Ironic that a company that profits from anonymous sources and leaks would fire one of their hosts for the same thing.

Damn, I really liked him.

Though, I wouldn't mind seeing College Football Sunday going back to Matt Schick, Kevin Carter and Jason Sehorn (despite his Trumpish support.) That was such a breath of fresh air for college coverage.

What happens with his Twitter account? Is it his or ESPN's? Who has the legal right to it? His Twitter is @ adnanESPN

Sorry I've always wondered what happens in cases like these

What secrets does a sports network even have though?

ESPN is more than a sports network. They're a mega distributor with lucrative contracts with many establishments. They're also very personality based. So you can leak a lot about financials, or hiring practices, or maybe you leak about individual, important, and powerful people who have things they don't want aired publicly. What are x anchor's true thoughts on x player/team/city and is it really raunch and scandulous? Is there widespread discrimination and sexism and specific unknown events that would highlight it?

Sky's the limit really when it comes to big guns like ESPN. I'm a bit interested seeing what he leaked. Is it the boring leaks or the juicy ones?

Well what did he leak? If it was some bullshit that the company is doing regarding toxic work environments or something similar then I say good on him. Don't really know though.

What did he leak? That ESPN has an sec bias? That they love the Yankees and Red Sox? Future 30/30 ideas?

He was the only fill in ESPN radio host worth listening to. He should be a quick pick up for Fox or CBS college football studio shows.

Does matter though. Despite what the US legal system has to say about it, the court of public opinion is stronger than it, and as such it will determine whether or not the guy is a champion or a chump. What he leaked is the only thing that matters.

Always liked him on ESPN's CFB coverage TBH. Will be sad to see him gone. Curious to see who will replace him though.
