Im surprised they didnt make this deal with Sony..
With all the shit that is gonna unfold in the next period this seems savvy on both ends
Oh wait it was the one more like No Mans Sky?
It's been launched since December 2018 and still doesn't have a shopping cart.Hopefully by the time these are out, EGS will have a lot more of Steam's features.
Yeah no doubt. It will be weird playing Team Ico game on other platforms to be honest.
If I had to guess, it's either 'no-steam'-type agreements (which allows for Origin or Uplay or the like, unlikely as it is)....
So unless you make your money back, (minus whatever costs are/aren't covered), you're not 'turning a profit'.
It's got wishlist now! It's been launched since December 2018 and still doesn't have a shopping cart.
That's exactly what Randy Pitchford said when announcing BL3's exclusivity. That claim aged poorly.Hopefully by the time these are out, EGS will have a lot more of Steam's features.
Not a fan of every Remady's outputs (I thought AW was kind of boring) but... He is right though. Most of those popular games are glaringly void and super tired.
Epic launches publishing label, signs creators behind Control, Inside, and The Last Guardian
An impressive lineup.www.theverge.com
Gen design and playdead on the same slide is FIRE. Holy shit epic that is amazing
I would assume that Epic, as the publisher, would require the funds they are providing be used exclusively on the game that they are providing the funds for...I hope they can make that Alan Wake expansion a lot meatier now that they have the moneyz.
When you consider the terms on offer, it shouldn't be surprising at all that any of these developers chose to work with Epic.
Not if you wait until it's been out for some time and then buy a used copy. It's better than snatching random 3rd party games for their storefront, but not really happy about it at all. I don't want to support Epic and if I buy a Remedy game on PS5, they will still get money.

I thought TLG did decently enough on Ps4?
Was it really a disaster sales-wise as much as people are are painting it now?
I think it's more of a console seller than it was a massive blockbuster.I thought TLG did decently enough on Ps4?

Of course it never was a game meant to make Uncharted numbers, and i know development was long and messy, but i recall hearing at the time that it sold enough copies to be a decent success overall.Well, add the not-so-stellar sales to the 13+ years of development... do you think Sony was happy with it?
I really think it was more of a prestige project for them.
Fact is: Sony, Microsoft and to some extent even Nintendo paid for exclusives (even today they announced that Panzer Dragoon is a timed exclusive for Switch...)
According to certain people, we should not buy games from them anymore, right?

Steam is a store, not a platform.I'm guessing "multi-platform" doesn't include platforms like Steam…
Oh shit really? I've only seen like one picture of a space man, I didn't realise anything 'real' was announced. Not following them closely enough I guessPlaydead announced their game like 2 years ago, i don't know why are you surprised :D

Weird how a store then is much better and does more for the consumer than all other platforms combined rofl.
Not sure of the definitions you want to use, but Steam does so much more than even the console platforms, consistently iterating on and creating greater utility, and extending the value of games people own there. Not bad for just a "store"
Yeah I meant to say that its surprising that Sony let the brains behind ICO sign with someone else. But maybe there is some history there that explains why this was not a consideration (outside of the money involved). When you consider the terms on offer, it shouldn't be surprising at all that any of these developers chose to work with Epic.
